During the run-down to Easter, Patisserie de Rouw introduces a number of new creations. The distinctive chocolaterie Easter assortment has been expanded with three new chocolate figures filled with rice-crisp: the Heart Thief, Chickie and the pet hare Flappie. Furthermore, the “Wij houden van Holland” assortment will be available in their store and online after Easter. In addition, it has recently become possible to obtain the famous nougatine pie in pre-cut super tight pieces.

We think their ‘Wij houden van Holland’ assortment is absolutely great. Nice idea, if your restaurant or hotel is located in a characteristic building, to have a mini chocolate house made of this? Think KLM-style houses! 😉

Chocolate Easter assortment of Patisserie De Rouw

Patisserie De Rouw is known for its spectacular Easter assortment, in which, in addition to the most beautiful chocolate Easter eggs, animals such as hares and chickens play a starring role. New is the Heart Thief, an adorable heart-shaped chocolate chicken that is sure to win the hearts of young and old. Oh, to be someone’s heart thief! Chickie with her striking eyes and eyelashes is a sweet and cool chicken with a belly shaped like an egg. The third new member of the family is Flappie, the delightful chocolate Easter bunny with beautiful hanging ears. The chocolate figures are made of the very best chocolate and their bellies are filled with the most delicious rice crisp.

‘Wij houden van Holland’ assortment

Doris De Rouw: “A large part of the Easter assortment is included in our web store. People can always take a look to see what’s on offer. After Easter we will be introducing the theme ‘We love Holland’, in which we celebrate spring with Dutch symbols such as tulips and windmills, not to mention Secretary’s Day, King’s Day, Sugar Festival and Mother’s Day. In addition, we are launching a beautifully styled Dutch house made of chocolate that ‘houses’ a luxury cake like a bell jar. A great show piece that you put on the table and enjoy with your guests.”

Nougatine pie super tight sliced

The nougatine pie has been the house specialty for 62 years. Doris de Rouw: “For this delicious hazelnut-foam pie with whipped cream and crunchy pieces of nougat, consumers come to us from all over the Netherlands and even from Belgium and Germany. Thanks to our innovative equipment, we can cut this classic into super-tight slices, which is very convenient for at home. This also makes it easy for customers to freeze the sliced pie and take a few pieces out of the freezer each time. We get a lot of enthusiastic feedback about this. We also use it to relieve our catering customers, who can easily and quickly serve a quality product with their coffee. Something that is very welcome in these times of staff shortages. In addition, this method helps reduce food waste. The pie also works well as an affordable dessert.”
