Bed time stories

The ultimate bed time stories to read in hotels are stories which takes place in the hotel….. Don’t you agree? We once philosophized about starting our own hotel and one of the ideas that came up was writing a story which took place in the vicinity of the hotel. And sending this story to every guest two weeks prior to their arrival, to enhance the anticipation. Imagine the kind of stories that could be written about your hotel or the hotel you love to visit as a loyal guest. We haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying such an idea as guest yet but it’s quite interesting to see what is done with storytelling in the hospitality industry.
We made a small list with successful storytelling examples!

The Null Stern-Hotelkonzept has opened again!

From 2008 till 2010 the Null Stern-Hotelkonzept, or in plain English the Zero Star Hotel concept, got a lot of attention worldwide. The first concept was in a former nuclear bunker in Teufen. Now the twins, Frank and Patrick Riklin restarted the concept with an open air hotel in the Swiss mountains of the Bündnerland in the Safiental. The only thing provided is a bed!

Dutch city Leiden has a new hotspot in the city for the upcoming three months. De Buurt (the neighbourhood) recently opened next to Leiden Central station. A place where art, culture, food and fashion meet.

Spacious, a startup cofounded by Preston Pesek and Chris Smothers to make use of empty restaurants by offering them up to freelancers and others without an office as an alternative to crowded coffee shops. Recently started in New York City.
