At Horecatrends we spot a lot of national and international trends on a daily basis. This week among others a Floating beer garden in London and a Peruvian model opens a restaurant in New York City. Besides that would you try cockroach milk? Floating beer garden in London

Between the 30th of July to the 21st of August there will be a barge floating through the London canals. The Floating Gardens, as it is called, is initiated by Hoegaarden and can accommodate up to twelve people at a time. Due to the limited amount there is not enough place for everyone. If you want to ride the boozy barge, you must enter the free prize draw.

Purvian model cooks at Baby Brasa in NYC

Franco Noriega, the Peruvian model famous for his campaigns for Calvin Klein and Hugo Boss, opened his own restaurant Baby Brasa. As we always say: chefs are our new idols but Franco Noriega tops this of, with his looks and skills to cook.

Baguettes out of a vending machine

San Francisco has its first vending machine which dispenses freshly-baked baguettes. The idea originates from the French company Le Bread Xpress, who currently has 100 locations in Paris. Dough is added to the vending machine (which includes a built-in fridge and oven) on a daily base.

Cockroach milk as the next superfood?

Researchers in India have found that the insects might be able to provide an alternative and compete protein source. Researchers from Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine in Bengaluru found that the milk of the Pacific beetle cockroach has four times the amount of protein of cow’s milk.

Naked restaurant, The Bunyadi in London, closes one month earlier

Naked Restaurant, The Bunyadi heads to Paris one month earlier than planned. Not because of a lack of enthusiasm from the Londoners but due to the global warming. They had a sans-airco venue, and sweaty naked people eating together isn’t very appealing. The London fans will get a private members club though, according to the founder Seb Lyall.
