Ruby Hotels pioneers 35-hour working week in their hotels

In October 2022, Ruby Hotels introduced a 35-hour work week at the same 40-h salary across all their locations in Europe, in hotels, workspaces and reservations department. This initiative aimed not only to attract new talent, but also to increase the engagement of their existing team members and take their feedback seriously. Moreover, they even introduced a four-day work week in Amsterdam.

After a year and a half, they surveyed their employees again, and an overwhelming majority of 76% of their employees feel that the switch to a 35-hour working week was a great decision. They feel happier, more energetic and more balanced. The extra time is actively used for sports and other relaxing activities, which improves concentration at work and overall quality of life. Ruby is proud that this measure has been implemented at all its locations in Europe, highlighting the company’s role as a leader in modern working practices in the hospitality industry. Feedback from their employees confirms that Ruby is doing something special and innovative, which it will continue to support and promote. UNLIMEAT Pulled Pork Wrap is now available at all Starbucks locations in Hong Kong

April 16th UNLIMEAT announced the launch of its Pulled Pork Wrap at Starbucks locations throughout Hong Kong. The UNLIMEAT Pulled Pork Wrap is a fully plant-based product containing UNLIMEAT’s pulled pork, along with refreshing carrot, vibrant red cabbage, and crisp lettuce, all wrapped together for a satisfying and guilt-free meal. Since first entering Hong Kong in 2020, UNLIMEAT has expanded its presence by partnering with world class Chinese restaurants such as Mott 32, Crystal Jade, and Trust Congee King, providing these restaurants with plant-based options. In 2022, to commemorate Earth Day, IKEA HK launched an alternative meat menu using UNLIMEAT products, while Seven Eleven also launched two items containing UNLIMEAT’s signature product, Korean BBQ. Starbucks has been introducing plant-based menu items as part of the “value consumption” trend, which is gradually growing and emphasizes the importance of both the global environment and animal welfare. Check out their press release in the link in the title, and the products of UNLIMEAT here.

Chanel International Beach Experience at ‘My Little Saint Tropez’

Spotted in an Instagram post by Giulia Art, Chanel International Beach Experience at ‘My Little Saint Tropez’ (their Instagram account is linked in the title). An authentic lifestyle media since 2018, which captured unreal moments with a touch of AI, as they say: “Protect your reality, enjoy the art of imagination”.  A great idea for a beach resort to collaborate with a fashion brand. We also wrote about similar collaborations in real life last year, including ‘Dioriviera‘ beach club by One&Only Desaru Coast in Malaysia and the ‘Blue Beach’ club by Louis Vuitton at the Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum, Turkey. When are we going to see this kind of collabs in beach restaurants in the Netherlands?

Thai Fried Sweet Potato Balls

Spotted on the Instagram of ‘Friends from Thailand travel Guide’, link in the title. The embedded post is about Thai street food called Ka-nom Khai Nok Krata, which are Thai Fried Sweet Potato Balls – with different colours, crispy on the outside and soft inside. They look delicious and not so difficult to make!

And another way to serve a croissant | As cereal

We spotted it before, mini croissants served as a breakfast cereal. But we were kind of over the croissant hype. But we keep spotting them: very teeny tiny croissants dipped in hot chocolate served at Counter Culture Coffee at Jhilmil Colony as in the Instagram reel below by WhatsUpDilli or as mentioned above as cereal.  In the Netherlands even the supermarket chain Albert Heijn shares a recipe for the latest, in the link in the title a link to a YouTube tutorial by Lilac Diaries.
