The McDonald’s All American Games returns to Houston this April

The McDonald’s All American Games will head back to Houston this April as the next generation of high school basketball greats get set to square off on April 2 at Toyota Center in the city. A whole new class of all-star of the top 48 high school basketball players take the court this April. The McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee has also announced the 729 girls and boys basketball players nominated for the chance to play in the Games this April. A complete list of 2024 McDonald’s All American Games Nominees is available at mcdaag.com. Check out their website in the title.

New year, new PIZOOKIE®: BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse® introduces the brand-new cinnamon roll PIZOOKIE®

The first time we wrote about the PIZOOKIE® by BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse® was in 2019. Back then it was created with cereals and vanilla ice cream. In 2022 we spotted the peanut butter s’mores Pizookie® and wrote about it in our ‘Trends we spotted week 32’.  This year’s Cinnamon roll Pizookie is made of four freshly baked cinnamon rolls coated in homemade cream cheese icing, piled with rich vanilla bean ice cream, and drizzled with a hot caramel sauce. More details in their press release, link in the title.

A bouquet of ice cream

This can only be made in Japan, edible art made of ice cream. We spotted this bouquet of ice cream on the Instagram of Bokksu, link in the title. Their subtitle is: ‘Discover Japan through snacks’, check out their account through the link in the title. The bouquet has been spotted in Kyoto, in a shop where you can also buy bonsai trees.

Bram Ladage hands out free “Brammetjes” again on Valentine’s Day

Especially for Valentine’s Day, Bram Ladage, a ‘snack bar’ chain in and around Rotterdam, has revived their old tradition of handing out free ‘Brammetjes’ to everyone. So line up on 14 February between noon and 2pm at all their snack bars. “Because whether you are single or not, on the day of love, Bram is there for everyone,” says Isabeau Ladage. You might have to queue up for it, but it’ll be worth it: a well-filled bag of fries and a memorable Valentine’s Day. The style of the campaign and accompanying commercial contain a subtle nod to the past, with Bram Ladage looking back to the days when free fries on Valentine’s Day was a common treat. More details on their website, link in the title or watch their video below.

We are definitely going to try this ‘Italian Iced Coffee’ this summer

For lovers of strong coffee – an Italian Iced coffee! I (Marjolein) like to drink an espresso with Iced cubes during the summer, but this looks even more delicious! Spotted on Golden Brown Coffee’s Instagram, link in the title.

A special machine to prepare your coffee

Spotted on the Instagram of caffieneeds (link in the title) – who spotted this reel made by Sorasak Charerndumrongkeat – an unusual machine to make an iced coffee or cappuccino. Spotted in a Starbucks in Thailand.

48 Collagen Café in Paris | Beauty inside and out

A special café is coming to Paris, the ‘48 Collagen Café’ at 48 Rue La Fayette. An initiative by influencer Amandine Fornot. Discover their beautifully coloured drinks enriched with collagen, for a unique glow! Spotted on Paris Secret’s Instagram account, check out their post below. The floating +POOL funded, sets to open this summer in the east river of New York City

In 2011 and 2013 we wrote about a great idea to create a floating pool in the east river of New York City. We spotted an Instagram post by Designboom (below) that stated that this floating, self-filtering swimming pool by +POOL New York has secured $16 million of funding from the state and the city. This will allow the first version of +POOL to be installed in summer 2024. As stated in the article in 2013, the ultra-clean, filtered pool water will be sourced from the river in which it floats. Follow their Instagram account for more information, link in the title.
