Fujita Kanko Opens Halal Japanese restaurant Origami Asakusa in Tokyo

Leading Japanese hospitality company Fujita Kanko Inc. announced that it will open Halal Japanese restaurant Origami on July 25th in Asakusa, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Tokyo. The company intends to attract the increasing Muslim visitors in Japan. According to the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the number of Muslim visitors to Japan has been rising significantly in recent years. The growth is especially apparent with Malaysian visitors as well as Indonesian visitors, which grew 30% from 2016 to 2017. In a survey conducted before arriving in Japan, a majority of Muslim visitors expressed a keen interest in trying Japanese foods in Japan. Yet Japanese restaurants that cater to halal populations are still extremely limited. lees verder

Ven Amsterdam is officially open. The former KPN complex in Sloterdijk is now the new home for the Park Inn by Radisson Amsterdam City West hotel (476 rooms), Holland Casino West and B-aparthotels. In addition, there are several catering concepts such as Burgers’ n Sweets and the Dutch Dagelijks Lekker (Daily Delicious) and the spa concepts of House of Wellness and FloatCenter Amsterdam. GO! Rent a Car Amsterdam complements the existing facilities perfectly. Developer Omnam Investment Group successfully connected the international designer Karim Rashid to the project. The third Sunday of July was designated in the USA as National Ice Cream Day, in fact even July is the Ice Cream Month since 1984. It seems that the those who celebrate this National Day have to thank President Ronald Reagan for it! He wanted to commemorate a treat enjoyed by over 90 percent of the nation’s population and produced by 10% of the nation’s milk supply. When Reagan’s proclamation was officially signed into law, he also called on the U.S. people to pay tribute to ice-cream with “appropriate ceremonies and activities.”

Marbella has another hotspot! From mid June to 16 September chef Mauricio Giovanini runs the Latin American fusion pop-up restaurant Hayaca at the Amare Marbella Beach Hotel. He runs Michelin star restaurant Messina next to the hotel. In addition to this new restaurant concept, Amare also has a lot of space for art. This season they expose works by the Spanish photographer Jesús Chacón throughout the hotel. And they have announced a partnership with the Marbella International Film Festival.
