- We still think it’s a great idea from Café De Gaper in Leiden: royal snacking, but a shot in the colors of the flag is also a fun addition. Spotted at Café Kooper in Amsterdam.

A platform for whisky lovers worldwide | WhiskyCircle
The Dutch start-up WhiskyCircle has launched its mobile app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The platform offers whisky enthusiasts a single central hub to discover new whiskies, keep track of their collection and share experiences with an international community.
Unlike existing platforms, WhiskyCircle combines discovery, tracking and community. Users can search for whiskies, save tasting notes and connect with other enthusiasts. The database contains over 33,000 whiskies from 1,200 distilleries and 1,500 brands, and is available in approximately 173 countries. It also features over 250 whisky bars. Features include an AI Sommelier, flavour profile analysis, Whisky of the Day, price alerts and event listings.
Tricorp workwear introduces AI Fitting Room ‘TRIFIT’
Tricorp Workwear introduces TRIFIT, an AI-driven ‘fitting experience’ that allows users to digitally assemble, visualise and share workwear. The tool was developed in collaboration with Happy Horizon and combines personalisation, visualisation and lead generation in a single environment.
Users can put together outfits, select a model and immediately see what the complete workwear looks like. Based on this configuration, TRIFIT automatically generates images and videos, which can be shared and used by sales teams for follow-up.
The tool generates content in real time based on user input and marks a shift in B2B workwear from individual product choices to immediate visual confirmation via AI.

A new hospitality concept is planned to open on April 30, 2026 on the Baltic coast of Rügen, combining multiple strategic dimensions: The property will operate as a curated ‘Signature House” within the Brionj Luxury Hotel Collection, while simultaneously expanding the international brand portfolio of Grand Metropolitan Hotels with a distinctive destination in Germany. The property is operated by VELA Hotels and the name is ‘The Baltic View’. THE BALTIC VIEW has 14 spacious luxury apartments with up to 160 square meters of living space and is deliberately positioned as a premium alternative between a traditional luxury hotel and high-end private living. More details in the German press release, link in the title.

The Berkeley celebrates community with new SW1 Sips menu
The Berkeley, the five star hotel in London, has introduced a new cocktail menu at The Berkeley Bar and Terrace. The SW1 Sips menu highlights local favourites, well known institutions, and people connected to the hotel’s neighbourhood, as well as lesser known places nearby.
The menu includes ten signature cocktails and was created by bar manager Marcello Cauda and his team. It features both classic cocktails with a twist and new creations. The bar was designed by Irish designer Bryan O’Sullivan and has been a meeting place for locals since 2019.
The venue includes a terrace for outdoor gatherings and an indoor space known as the Snug, which features artwork by New York based artist TM Davy.

Timboektoe beach pavilion in Wijk aan Zee gets a new owner
Pim Lammertse, who once started out washing dishes on the beach, is now at the helm of two beach pavilions in Wijk aan Zee in The Netherlands. He has owned Aloha since the start of this year and, as of 1 May, he will also be taking over the adjacent Timboektoe. With Timboektoe, he is adding a second pavilion with its own character and clientele. Aloha is known for its welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, whilst Timboektoe offers scope for a more creative approach.
The Noordpier in Wijk aan Zee attracts visitors all year round thanks to its combination of nature, the sea and surf culture.
Espresso Bomb
Fizzy espresso? We spotted at Instagram a couple of times. In the reel below by Moosh (link to their Instagram account in the title) from Kuwait, we see a striking drink made from espresso, sparkling water, salt, lime and lemon. We also spotted the Espresso Bom served with tonic. Both drinks are prepared at the table and it kind of looks like a little chemistry experiment. 😉

Enjoy a royal snack on King’s Day or treat yourself to a shot in the colours of our flag!
We still think it’s a brilliant idea from Café de Gaper in Leiden: a royal snack featuring, for example, a Foie Pouce, wild garlic arancini, Serrano croquettes, and Filet o Fish caviar.
