Great fire show in cocktail bar Centifolia in Tokyo

We spotted a great show by Yuzo Komai, an award-winning mixologist and owner of one of Tokyo’s must-visit bars: Bar Centifolia. Here all guests can expect a show! Sous chef restaurant Carelshaven, Bas Jonker, is going to the international final Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs

Bas Jonker (24), creative sous chef of restaurant Carelshaven in Delden, represents the Netherlands during the finals of the international cooking competition Jeunes Chefs Rôtisseurs in Istanbul, Turkey, in October. From October 4th to 8th 2023 Jonker will represent the Netherlands and he will be accompanied by Rutger van der Hoeven from restaurant Bridges of Sofitel Legend The Grand from Amsterdam, last year’s winner.

An ice cream for just under $7,000 | Ice cream brand Cellato has set the new world record

Japanese ice cream brand Cellato has set a new Guinness World Record for the most expensive ice cream, selling each serving of its flagship ice cream Byakuya for about US$6.696. The extreme price comes from the ingredients; edible gold, white truffle and natural cheeses. More exclusive Japanese-European fusions are to come. The iconic Oscar Mayer ‘Wienermobile’ gets a new name for the first time in nearly 100 years

Oscar Mayer starts a new era for his beloved Wienermobile, changing the vehicle’s name for the first time since 1936. The new name ‘Frankmobile’ pays homage to the Frankfurt-based hot dogs, these sausages are made from 100% beef with a newly improved recipe. The vehicles have also been refurbished with a fresh exterior. The fleet, consisting of six ultra-recognizable cars, will tour the US this summer.

Bacchus Wine Festival celebrates its tenth edition

In the weekends of June 2nd to 4th and 9th to 11th, the Bacchus Wine Festival will once again settle in the Amsterdamse Bos (forest). The fact that an ever-growing group of wine lovers and bon vivants have a warm heart for the festival is evident from the fast ticket sales. This year’s program is more extensive than ever, as the Bacchus Wine Festival is celebrating its tenth edition. More than 300 different wines from all over the world are presented here. Asahi’s new vending machines absorb CO2 which is converted into industrial materials

Normally, vending machines suck in air to warm or cool the products they are selling. Japanese beverage company Asahi’s new vending machines have an extra function; while sucking in the air, it absorbs and stores CO2, which will be turned into industrial materials such as fertilizer and concrete. These CO2-munching machines will be tested in Japanese regions starting June 2023, with a full rollout expected in 2024, targeting densely populated areas.

Wendy’s Partners with Pipedream to pilot industry-first underground delivery system for mobile orders

The Wendy’s Company recently announced a new partnership with Pipedream, a hyperlogistics company, to pilot its underground autonomous robot system with the goal of delivering digital food orders from the kitchen to designated parking spots in second. With the aim to achieve faster and more convenient pick-up experiences. More details in their press release, link in the title.

HotelSlash | A hotel rate tracking tool

The discount car rental booking site AutoSlash has launched a new subscription service for hotel bookers. Known as HotelSlash, the membership-based platform will track hotel bookings and alert travelers when their rates have dropped. More details in the link to the article at Fodors in the title.
