Hard Iced Tea by Theetje

Theetje originated from the ambition to connect students within the world of restaurants and catering. “With Theetje, we want to offer our fellow students a drink that is not only refreshing, but also affordable, so that everyone can enjoy a delicious alternative to beer and wine,” says Pieter Kronenburg. The concept fits the needs of their young target group: students between 18 and 30 years old. The official launch of Theetje coincides with the start of the new school year 2023/2024.

Supported by employer

What also makes Theetje special is the support that Pieter Kronenburg has received from his employer. General Manager of Hotel Moxy The Hague, Remco van der Jagt, is proud of his employee. “At Moxy we like to support our employees in their personal growth and ambitions. We are proud of the achievements by Pieter and his partner Andrew Trapman. They have developed and tested their product at our hotel and we have been able to provide them with valuable advice. We are therefore happy to include their product in our range,” says Van der Jagt.

Young entrepreneurship

Theetje was created after the duo’s joint trip to Canada, where several ice teas with alcohol are already available. There wasn’t a similar drink in the Netherlands yet. The duo has come up with their own flavour and continues to develop this in the Netherlands. The young entrepreneurs successfully approached wholesalers to expand the distribution network, which resulted in the availability of Theetje at various hotels. In addition to Hotel Moxy The Hague, they also serve Theetje at other hotels from the IHCP (International Hotel Capital Partners) chain and at the Leidsche Stadsbrouwhuis. Kronenburg and Trapman have the ambition to make Theetje available nationwide and to make it a popular drink among all Dutch students.
