Examples by Los Cabos Tourism Board and the Mandarin Oriental
A great example comes from the Los Cabos Tourism Board, which is using this global occasion to spotlight the wide variety of transformative wellness experiences available in the region.
This year’s theme, #ReconnectMagenta, is at the heart of Global Wellness Day 2025. It symbolizes a journey of reconnection—with nature, ourselves, our loved ones, communities, and the often overlooked aspects of wellbeing. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group embraces this theme beautifully, offering wellness experiences focused on nature, inner reflection, and authentic rituals grounded in traditional healing practices.
Los Cabos celebrates Global Wellness Day with transformative experiences
In celebration of Global Wellness Day, the Los Cabos Tourism Board highlights the region’s growing reputation as a leading wellness destination. With offerings rooted in natural beauty and ancestral traditions, Los Cabos invites travellers to experience healing therapies that nourish body, mind, and spirit.
Wellness tourism is booming globally. According recent data from the Global Wellness Institute — wellness tourism is worth $651 billion and growing 16.6% annually—and Los Cabos is rising to meet the demand. Visitors seeking wellness experiences here report a 91% satisfaction rate and spend around $3,000 per trip. Wellness experiences range from volcanic stone massages at Nobu Los Cabos and cacao ceremonies at The Cape and Waldorf Astoria Pedregal, to ancestral Temazcal rituals at One & Only Palmilla. Guests can also enjoy thalassotherapy at The Club at Solaz, yoga retreats at Drift Hotel, and breathwork sessions during Eforea Wellness Day at Hilton Los Cabos.
The Los Cabos region seamlessly blends luxury with authenticity, offering accessible and sustainable options while preserving local healing traditions. With over 900 new hotel rooms set to open by 2027 and a strong commitment to eco-conscious wellness, the destination continues to redefine intentional travel.
Mandarin Oriental celebrates Global Wellness Day 2025 with reconnection-focused experiences
This Global Wellness Day (GWD), Mandarin Oriental’s global Spa & Wellness locations will honour the theme #ReconnectMagenta, emphasizing reconnection with nature, self, loved ones, community, and longevity. The brand offers complimentary wellness experiences inspired by Oriental philosophy and authentic rituals to support holistic wellbeing.
Guests can expect unique offerings across five dimensions: outdoor meditation and barefoot rituals for reconnecting with nature; journaling and silent tea ceremonies for self-reflection; family yoga and shared treatments to strengthen bonds; local workshops supporting community engagement; and longevity-focused practices like energy therapies and traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic treatments.
Mandarin Oriental also expands its Digital Wellness Initiative, encouraging guests to unplug with screen-free activities rooted in Eastern wisdom. The initiative aims to go beyond a one-day celebration, offering take-home rituals, expert-led content, and wellness products to support long-term wellbeing.
“Reconnection is central to our wellness philosophy,” says Jeremy McCarthy, Group Director of Spa & Wellness. Guests are invited to share their experiences using #MO_GWD25 and #GlobalWellnessDay.
We also wrote about their great wellness initiative of ‘The Art of Silence’ back in December 2024!
