Hidden in a 7Eleven

When visiting both the karaoke bar and Izakaya DUKI, visitors immerse themselves completely in Japanese ambiance. The brand new restaurant is ‘hidden’ in the bar and accessible through a door of a 7Eleven supermarket. Through this door you enter the cozy izakaya and step straight from Rotterdam into a completely different world. The menu features homemade dishes prepared according to traditional Japanese recipe, sake, beers and, of course, signature cocktails.

Izakaya | A Japanese cafe

An izakaya is the Japanese version of a cafe, a casual bistro where you can enjoy alcoholic refreshments combined with small dishes to share. At Izakaya DUKI in Rotterdam, you can now experience the conviviality of this typically Japanese form of dining out. From the high loft, guests can look straight into the kitchen and watch the dishes being prepared.

Homemade dishes, signature cocktails and karaoke booths

The menu has been carefully selected in collaboration with the Japanese-Rotterdam company Osozai and consists of a selection of homemade small dishes. From yakatori to karaage, sake clams, agedashi tofu and salmon tataki. In addition to fish and meat dishes, vegetarian or vegan guests also have plenty of choices, such as tomatoes marinated in soy and blanched spinach with sesame dressing. Also on the menu are a number of specials, which are larger dishes to share, such as a whole dorado from the grill and a tomahawk tonkatsu, served with Japanese BBQ sauce. The extensive drink menu features a variety of beer, wine, sake and signature cocktails made with Japanese ingredients such as yuzu and shiitake. Of course the menu also features highballs and sours, typical of an izakaya.

Complete your night out by combining dinner with a session in one of the private karaoke booths of the Duke of Tokyo. Let family, friends or colleagues hear your singing skills and discover your shared musical guilty pleasures. They recommend booking a karaoke booth in advance via the website.
