Five outlets of McDonald’s in Tampere, Finland have announced it’s trialing a new item on their menu – a vegan burger. They started selling the McVegan early October and it will be available until November 21. The McVegan has become an instant hit on the social media, with a lot of vegans asking McDonalds in their own region to trial this burger as well. The fans even urge McDonald’s to make it an item on the international menu. read more

There’s a burger out there made with dry-aged ribeye, foie gras and entire chunks of butter. Then it’s topped with black truffles, truffle cheese and bordelaise. It’s a spectacular burger. But we have seen similar burgers worldwide. More spectacular is that the folks at Restaurant the Barrymore in Las Vegas only make a dozen per day. Image making your own ‘special off-menu’ dish and sell it in limited numbers.

 Illegal Burger, in Oslo opened in secrecy late last year. The fresh-looking burgerplace is only 43 m² and the heavily wood-paneled space looks a bit like a below deck of a ship, with the tight kitchen resembling a galley. First there were secret bars, now there are secret restaurants!

It was time to take his restaurant in Rotterdam-Zuid to the next level. “My great passion will always be creating tantalising burgers. But I remain a chef at heart. I missed the diversity in my menu.” After four years of successfully serving his famous burgers at Diego’s Burgers restaurant, the burger king decided it was time for a change: “We have redesigned the interior and given it a mature and timeless look. We also enriched the menu with modern dishes such as a salmon ceviche and updated the wine list. But of course, burgers will also retain a place on the menu.”
