The Apollo Hotels successfully transformed into Leonardo Hotels and their new website is online as well. And TENZING Natural Energy is now also available in the Netherlands, it’s a completely plant-based, low-calorie energy drink with a positive impact on the planet.

The first branch of fast food chain Chick&Cheez opened in Liège, serving original recipes fried chicken and sauces based on cheese. A new challenger on the fast food market in Belgium. And from 2024 the French startup Midnight Trains will start offering ‘hotel rooms on rails’ to travel by night from Paris to different European cities. Comfortable and a more sustainable way of travelling within Europe.

In Florence opened this restaurant: ‘Sophia Loren – original Italian food’, the first restaurant of a new Italian chain? The menu is mouthwatering! And in Singapore some lucky people had the change to taste cell-based lobster and shrimps meat at a tasting event last November by Shiok Meats.

Tesla is officially planning to enter the restaurant business, will their concept be the future of charging your car? Being entertained with food, fun, music or movies while waiting?

Heinz ketchup marketing has been busy: in Canada they partnered with Waze and Burger King to reward those in traffic, driving at speed of its slow pour ketchup, (0.045 Km/h) and in the US they started the competition to find the Heinz Head Burger Artist! Inspiration for the hospitality industry?

Stalk & Spade, an entirely meat-free fast casual concept will open just outside of Minneapolis this spring. Let’s see if we will spot this kind of fast casual concepts in Europe in the future. And the Easter mainstay Cadbury teamed up with the Goose Island Beer Company to release a Creme Egg-flavored stout for Easter. 

An interesting development: edible holograms created by the Khalifa Universitycould be used to show that a food item hasn’t been tampered with, or to prove that it isn’t a counterfeit product. And Starbucks is set to release its latest limited-edition coffee blend, to celebrate its 50th-anniversary. Fifty years already!

Two of America’s largest fast food chains, McDonald’s and Burger King, have announced new loyalty programs. Interesting to read! And what do you think, will there be more robots in the hospitality industry after COVID-19? We spotted another one, Robot ‘Jeeves’ in the Radisson Blu at Zürich Airport.

As of March 16th, children can watch the new show by Michelle Obama on Netflix. ‘Waffles + Mochi,’ is a culinary show that will teach them food related wisdom! And in Germany schools can create classes in the conference rooms of the Best Western Hotel Group.
