This summer, Amsterdam South is gaining a temporary Mediterranean hotspot. With the launch of Île de Bisous, Bisous and Strandzuid are joining forces for a two-day waterfront event. On July 10 and 11, Strandzuid will transform into an atmospheric open-air destination inspired by the Côte d’Azur, where gastronomy, entertainment, and togetherness take center stage.

Île de Bisous combines gastronomy and experience by the water

Guests can expect a combination of refined dishes, carefully selected wines, champagne, live entertainment, and long summer evenings by the water. With Île de Bisous, both hospitality concepts respond to the growing demand for immersive culinary experiences in a relaxed summer setting.

With Île de Bisous, Bisous and Strandzuid bring a touch of Southern France to Amsterdam South. The event is inspired by the laid-back atmosphere of Mediterranean coastal destinations, where long dinners, social gatherings, and live music naturally come together.

The collaboration reflects a broader hospitality trend in which restaurants increasingly embrace temporary concepts and events that go beyond food and beverages alone. Experience, atmosphere, and entertainment are becoming increasingly important elements of the guest journey.

According to Bisous co-owner Bas Noorman, the Mediterranean lifestyle serves as the foundation for the concept. Inspiration was drawn from iconic open-air venues on the French Riviera, where guests enjoy long summer evenings with sea views, great food, and live music.

Culinary experiences from golden hour until late evening

During the event, guests can explore a variety of culinary concepts. The menu features Bisous signature dishes, including oysters, caviar, and premium meat and fish selections. In addition, several food stations will offer fresh seafood, barbecue specialties, and other Mediterranean-inspired bites.

The wine selection has been curated by sommelier Koen van der Plas, co-founder of SOMMTIMES Finest Wines. The champagne experience is provided in partnership with Maison Perrier-Jouët.

Guests can choose between a fully serviced dining experience with a reserved table or a more casual evening focused on discovering a range of dishes and drinks.

Entertainment as part of the overall experience

Alongside its culinary offering, entertainment plays a key role in the concept. Live performances by singer Glenn Palm, saxophone musicians, dancers, and DJs will create a vibrant atmosphere throughout the evening.

In this way, Île de Bisous taps into the growing popularity of hospitality events where food, music, and lifestyle converge. Particularly during the summer months, guests are increasingly looking for venues where dinner naturally evolves into a complete night out.

Through this collaboration, Bisous and Strandzuid demonstrate how temporary events can create distinctive guest experiences while responding to the growing demand for exclusive summer concepts within the Dutch hospitality industry.
