Replace your plastic straws! | A list of alternatives

It all started with a video on social media. It showed how a turtle was hurt by a plastic straw. The use of plastic straws has already been abolished in several American cities. Last May, the European Commission also proposed to ban the use of plastic disposable items. Several parties have now taken the initiative to ban plastic straws permanently. They came up with sustainable alternatives. If you are not completely enthusiastic yet, we have listed a few examples here!

Nowadays, we spend about 90% of our time indoors even though we know that being close to nature is good for our mental and physical health. That is why the team of Ecobloom tried to find funding for their smart and interactive ecosystem, EcoGarden. Based on the ancient, unique growing method known as ‘Aquaponics’, which uses fish waste as the nutrient source for the plants. The plants naturally filter the water, which is circulated back into the aquarium. Within a week, the full 100% funding for the Ecogarden of Ecobloom at Kickstarter has been reached.

Swedish MAX Burgers (MAX) may not be well-known outside of their growing collection of restaurants across Europe (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, UK and Poland) and the Middle East, but has found a way to create a menu for their 130 restaurants that actually removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
