We’re always willing to give some free publicity for great Christmas decoration ideas! Recently we spotted Rolf’s German restaurant in New York City. They have been famous for their Christmas decorations for years now and they have a lot of old videos to proof that! Their Christmas decoration is absolutely over the top and according to most on the internet, gorgeous. If you think you can beat them, let us know!
This December, Bubbledogs, the gourmet hotdog and champagne bar, will be getting in the Christmas spirit, bringing back Londoners’ favourite: The Santa’s Sausage. Topped with all the festive favourites, Sandia Chang has been busy in the kitchen, designing the very special turkey hot dog with Christmas stuffing, cranberry chutney, crispy brussels sprouts, parsnip chips and gravy. This year, guests can also choose to pimp up their Santa’s sausage with the luxury addition of truffles, for a little extra. lees verder
Greenflash Wine introduces a new cocktail in the Netherlands: Barbera Tonic. This tough mix originates in the Italian region Piemont. The basis of the traditionally made Chinato is the Barbera d’Asti D.O.C.G. The Barbera Chinato is a delicious aperitif drink, but really surprising ‘in the mix’ with tonic or ‘G&T’. This creates a refreshing, dark red cocktail in the style of an Aperol Spritz. lees verder
Soon FG Okonomiyaki Bar will be opened in the Japanese style Denoism store, at the Katshoek 19 in Rotterdam (Hofbogen). They are going to serve Okonomiyaki, which means free translated ‘baked or grilled as you like it’. Unlike the Dutch pancake, the okonomiyaki isn’t based on milk but on seaweed stock. You can fill the pancake with a choice of toppings such as cod, pork belly, tuna, homemade ketchup and bonito flakes. For 5 euros each, you can take away a mini-ekonomiyaki’s. lees verder

From the 12th till the 14th of September pop-up Vinegar Bar will open in Amsterdam where consumers can discover the wide range of possibilities that vinegar offers. For example, the Dutch use vinegar mostly for kitchen purposes while in Japan it’s common to drink vinegar cocktails. The Vinegar Bar wants to show us the different kinds of vinegar and how to use them. lees verder
On the Île de Ré island, situated at France’s westcoast it’s possible to buy oysters from a vending machine. Similar to those offering snacks and drinks at railway stations and office buildings, but just a little more luxurious and pricey. The idea came from Tony Berthelot, who wanted to sell his oysters outside business hours as well. lees verder

In May we already published a bucket list with ice cream parlours but in the meanwhile we already posted 10 more stories about ice cream. A new list thus with amongst others one of the first ice cream parlours in the Netherlands that sells rolled ice cream, a parlour where DIY soft serve ice cream is being served and a cotton candy burrito with ice cream but also ice cream with alcohol like gin tonic or with beer.
