During a meeting of MVO Nederland (organisation Corporate Social Responsibility in the Netherlands) and Wageningen Academy, meat company Bolscher introduced a new product category, between meat and vega. The meeting ‘from food waste to food business’ was organised to prevent waste and make use of residual flows. The residual flow of ‘mushroom stems’ is used in one of Meat Your Veggies’s products. read more

The Dutch cider producers and importers of CiderCider will open ‘the Ciderbar’ in Rotterdam Hofbogen by the end of December. And in Groningen the first RavioliBar in the Netherlands opened. They make fresh ravioli daily!

The Cheesecake Factory has been sharing a slew of their incredible recipes for readers to make in their own kitchens since the COVID-19 crisis. Inspirational! And the Dutch Vegan Junk Food Bar will open in Germany this fall.

Hawaiian Poké Bowl is opening their 20th location in Belgium in the foodstreet of the brand new Antwerp Tower. To celebrate that twentieth poké location in just three years as it should be, this will be the flagship store of the healthy restaurant chain. Foodspotting.com preceded the introduction of the app known as Foodspotting. The site allowed its users to take pictures of food that they loved. It was bought by OpenTable in 2013 and doesn’t exist anymore. ChefsTemp on about what happened to this app!

Designer water: this year’s limited-edition glass bottle of Evian water has been covered in Snowflakes by designer Not Vital. A collaboration with Moncler. Another great campaign for the Holiday Season in the UK, this time for the Bounty Bar: ‘The Lonely Bounty’.

 Online cooking tutorials called ‘The Secrets of French Cuisine’ at the website of ‘Fine Dining Lovers’. We included the tutorial of the ultimate croque monsieur! And the same website gives you all the details behind the 100 days pop-up in Paris: restaurant ADMO!

Chiqueolatte opened its 8th location in The Hague and The Hoxton hotel group will open four new hotels in Europe in 2022. Tony’s Chocolonely announced that it will not build its own chocolate factory in the near future.

Chance the Rapper collaborates with Starbucks to promote Starbucks’s ‘Ready to Drink’ canned and bottled coffees with the help of a TikTok campaign, with prizes including a one-on-one video moment with Chance. And an idea to save energy by storing your vegetables in ‘The Groundfridge’. Great idea for chefs who have their own vegetable garden.

We couldn’t find more information yet, but we spotted on the Instagram page of The Avocado Show that they are opening a location in London this summer! We wish their team a lot of success with the opening.

Inspiration for municipalities from Tokyo, the Nippon Foundation launched a new toilet facility as part of ‘THE TOKYO TOILET’ which makes toilets much more accessible to the public. Very handy especially if all restaurants and bars are closed, like during the pandemic!

Future Meat Technologies that has opened the world’s first industrial cultured meat facility. We wonder which food safety authority will be the first to allow human consumption!

The Dutch solar designer Marjan van Aubel has introduced solar panels that look as if they are made from stained glass, as part of The Netherlands’ pavilion for the World Expo 2021 in Dubai. And IKEA will start selling their Swedish plant-bases meatballs this summer.

We spotted Choco Kebab some years back but the last couple of weeks we got a couple of Facebook posts about this sweet version of shawarma. We also spotted a DIY shawarma in New York City and most recently a vegan shawarma that’s being served at Noma in Copenhagen. Here in the Netherlands we love a great shawarma joint, especially if they serve it with lamb meat. But we never spotted a vegan version before, some inspiration in this article! read more
