De Goede & De Stoute, a small Burgundian brewhouse, took home no fewer than five gold awards at the World Beer Awards 2026. Vuurzee, the flagship beer, once again claimed Gold and Gold Country Winner. But the real surprise is Prinsenleven: launched this year and virtually unknown outside the brewery’s own circle of members, it immediately picked up Gold, Gold Country Winner, and World’s Best Pale Beer, Belgian Style Blonde 2026 — the highest honor worldwide in that style category.

De Goede & De Stoute | Sometimes the “small” beats the “big”

It’s a great David-versus-Goliath story: no multimillion-dollar budget, no marketing machine, no crowdfunding, no private equity, just a team that beats the established names through quality in every facet, from product to the relationship with suppliers and customers. What’s more, it’s the awards themselves that tell the real story: five gold medals for two beers from the same house is exceptional, especially with a world title added for a beer that has barely existed for a year, in a category with no shortage of established brands and breweries.

No concessions are made and no shortcuts are taken with the beers from De Goede & De Stoute,  and that’s now been recognized internationally by an independent jury.

Prinsenleven | A blond beer with a royal character

This year saw the launch of Prinsenleven: a blond beer with a royal character, light, elegant, and crafted for the first moments of the day. Champagne yeast gives it its refined mousse, Nelson Sauvin hops from New Zealand add a fresh, floral signature, and a touch of orange peel rounds it off. For now, it’s available exclusively to members of De Goede & De Stoute.

Prinsenleven has won the following awards: Gold – World Beer Awards 2026, Gold Country Winner – World Beer Awards 2026, and World’s Best Pale Beer – Belgian Style Blonde 2026.

Vuurzee | Elegant brut beer often served in top gastronomy

Vuurzee launched in 2018: an elegant brut beer with which De Goede & De Stoute established its name in the culinary world. Brewed with champagne yeast and pinot noir grapes from the brewery’s own vineyard in Loosdrecht, Vuurzee is a worthy alternative to sparkling wine. Thanks to its special sparkling yeast, Vuurzee develops in flavor over the years (which is why the brewery works with cuvées). The beer is poured everywhere from Michelin-starred restaurants to charming brasseries in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland. Wherever the connoisseur may go.

Vuurzee has won the following awards: Gold – World Beer Awards 2026 and Gold Country Winner – World Beer Awards 2026. We previously wrote about Vuurzee.
