The story of Wild & The Moon began in Paris
The story of Wild & The Moon begins in 2016, when Emma and Hervé Sawko open their first small take-away on Rue Charlot in Paris. Wild & The Moon has since grown into a lifestyle movement, set up and supported by a Wild Tribe of food lovers, chefs, nutritionists, and naturopaths. “We all firmly believe that we can change the world a little bit, meal by meal, and make it more beautiful,” says Nick Peperkamp. You can currently find Wild & the Moon in Amsterdam, ten locations in Paris and four locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Emma Sawko has also released her own Wild & The Moon cookbook.
100% homemade, plant-based, and gluten-free
The menu is 100% plant-based and 100% gluten-free: from juices, super bowls, soups and salads to desserts and snacks. “A healthy alternative to all the goodies that can already be found in the city,” says Nick. ‘The products we sell are homemade and made from wild, organic, local and pure ingredients. For example, you will find no refined sugars, additives, chemicals or GMOs, no gluten, no milk. Everything as pure as possible.”
Wild & The Moon’s recipes are inspired by the seasons, by pure ingredients, the journeys made by founders Emma and Hervé, and their many evenings dining with friends and family. “All flavours come from our memories. And we combine this with knowledge from herbal and natural medicine. This way we created a new form of food, packed with energy’, says Emma Sawko.
#nowaste at Wild & The Moon
Plastic packaging is a ‘no go’ at Wild & The Moon. Waste is reduced as much as possible, also locally in Amsterdam. The meals left over at the end of the day are not thrown away but collected by an external company. Nick Peperkamp: “People can buy ‘surprise baskets’ for a special price and enjoy our food even after closing time.”
Wild Tribe pre-opening
Those who had already registered as a ‘Wild Tribe Member’ via the website, could take a sneak preview during the soft pre-opening, from the 20th to the 22nd January. “We didn’t expect it to be such an instant success. By the end of the first day, everything was sold out and the response was overwhelming. Amsterdam was clearly waiting for an innovative plant-based food concept’, says Nick. The opening hours of the Amsterdam store: Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday: 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday: 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Catering from the Zuidas
In addition to the new location in the Amsterdam Pijp, the vegan success formula will also cater from its own WildLab kitchen on the Zuidas. And plans are in development to open more locations in the Netherlands in the future.
