Square, round croissants | Why haven’t we spotted a heart-shaped croissant yet?

In our trends we spotted week 2 we wrote about the square croissant of the Le Deli Robuchon in London, in another publication we spotted the Royales, a round croissant by restaurant Fallow in London (check out Instagram post below). This week we also spotted a great collaboration between Dominique Ansel Workshop and chef Eric Sze from restaurant 886. Restaurant 886 (Taiwan’s telephone country code) opened in 2018 and is a concept from Sze and Andy Chuang that aim to fuse their Taiwanese upbringing with American modernization. The team-up is centered around a French-Style Shao Bing Pork Belly Sandwich (the sandwich looks like another form of croissant) and Peanut Mi Jiang Latte set inspired by a traditional Taiwanese breakfast. More details in the article at Hype Beast and check out the embedded Instagram post below.

Skydeck Chicago, the breathtaking observation deck on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, has launched its annual Valentine’s Day social media contest, ‘Love on The Ledge’. The special event gives daring couples the opportunity to either renew their vows or tie the knot in a private, romantic ceremony on glass shaped boxes The Ledge, 1,353 feet above Chicago.

To enter the contest, couples were invited to submit a photo or video entry to the sweepstakes form linked on Skydeck’s Facebook or Instagram page from January 4 – 25, 2023, sharing their love story and why they wish to experience Love on The Ledge. On January 27, 2023, four couples were selected as winners of a private vow renewal or wedding ceremony on the nation’s highest observation deck to take place on February 12, 2023, the Sunday before Valentine’s Day.
