New Nordic food movie | A Taste of Hunger

A Taste of Hunger, in the theaters since January 28, is the latest film focused on the febrile atmosphere of a professional kitchen. The film stars Katrine Greis-Rosenthal as Maggie and Nikolaj CosterWaldau (aka Jamie Lannister from Game of Thrones) as Carsten, an ambitious couple with two children and a hunger to make their mark with their restaurant. More information in the article of Fine Dining Lovers or check out the trailer.

The Yard Milkshake Bar | Inspiration for serving freakshakes

A Facebook post by Demotivateur Food, link in the title, about the Milkshakes by The Yard Milkshake Bar, which are inspirational for those serving Freakshakes. The milkshakes at these bars (approximate 20 locations) in the USA look like a combination of Freakshakes and ‘pie’-shakes. Although they put a piece of pie on top of their shakes!

From March 1, the origin of meat served in canteens and restaurants must be mentioned in France

The mention of the origin of all meat served in France outside the home, from the school canteen to restaurants, becomes compulsory from March 1, according to a decree published Thursday, January 27, in the ‘Journal Official.

Announced for many months by the government and desired by the sectors, this labeling will now apply to poultry, sheep, pork or goat meat and no longer just beef. Currently, and since 2002, only the origin of beef must be mentioned in catering, a legacy of the mad cow crisis in particular. The labeling must mention the country of origin and from which farm. It applies to meat purchased raw by restaurants and not to meat purchased already prepared or cooked.

Special Valentine’s Day offer by the Bistrots Pas Parisiens in Paris

A great ‘Valentine’s Day’ offer by the Bistrots Pas Parisiens! This February 14 2022, their bistrots (Splash, Macaille, Sapristi, LaHaut, Saperlipopette…) are offering guests a free menu provided you come in groom’s attire. An original offer and peculiar way to celebrate love with a new date but hey, the meal is free for the whole table on condition that you come in your wedding attire. TGI Fridays will give a free appetizer to delivery drivers on February 10 just to say, “thanks for the hard work”

Since February is the month that celebrates love, TGI Fridays®, is dedicating Thursday, February 10th, as a day of “app”reciation to those who deliver, those who show up each and every day to ensure restaurants, businesses, and much more, run smoothly. Every truck driver, every FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHL delivery person; every courier, carrier, and crusader, who not only made sure holiday gifts were delivered, but also that food makes it to each TGI Fridays™ restaurant and to guests. Thanks to these hard-working individuals, the global supply chain never snapped — no matter how crazy things got over the last two years. Their hard work and dedication is love, delivered. On February 10th, all delivery drivers have to do is show up at any participating Fridays in their work uniform or simply show their credentials, and tell the bartender or server, “I work in the delivery business,” and Fridays will deliver everyone’s heartfelt “app”reciation with their choice of one of the following appetizers: Green Bean Fries, Loaded Potato Skins, Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls, Warm Pretzels, hips & Salsa, Pan-Seared Potstickers or Spinach & Artichoke Dip. Check out their press release for more details, link in the title.
