Last week the official launch of Tito’s Handmade Vodka took place in the Netherlands. This American brand was last year’s fastest-growing vodka brand in the world with a growth percentage of 64.5%. The vodka is 100% gluten-free and is made of corn, consists 40% alcohol and doesn’t have any added sugar or gelatine. That’s why it’s pure vodka.

Bartender’s Favorite

Because of its high quality and softness, Tito’s vodka is globally praised by bartenders. Not only is it a cocktail ingredient, the vodka is easy to drink straight as well. That’s why Tito’s is highly appraised during competitions where ‘sophisticated vodka’ brands such as Ketel One, Absolut, Belvedère and Grey Goose finish behind them. In 2001 they won double gold during the Worlds Spirits Competition in San Fransisco, meaning that each judge rewarded the vodka with gold.

Tito’s Handmade Vodka

In 1995, Tito Beverage (yes, that’s his real name) started to build his own micro distillery. To start with brewing his own vodka, he bought the first ever licence for a distillery in Texas. He used all his savings and signed up for 19 different cards to finance his business. During the first days Tito and his dog slept next to the pots to keep them running. Back then, Tito and an employee manually placed labels on each bottle. The vodka is still handcrafted on the same piece of land in Austin, Texas and Tito still taste each batch of whisky himself.

Martin’s Sporting Club

The launch of Tito’s in the Netherlands took place at Martin’s Sporting Club. The sportsbar recently opened at the Rembrandtplein in Amsterdam where the Cooldown Café used to be located. Compared to the average sportsbar, Martin’s is more luxurious and has offers Sports, Music, Food and Drinks. At the bar they serve ‘quality’ bar snacks, specialty beers and an extensive wine- and cocktail menu.
