Saturday 27th April will mark the launch of River Walk Market, a new weekly independent market at the foot of the iconic Battersea Power Station. Located at Circus West Village and its open from 11.00 AM till 17.00 PM. From the founders of Real Food Festivals who have been dedicated to supporting small, sustainable and ethically minded producers and staging some of the biggest food events in London and beyond, River Walk Market will be host to independent food and drink producers, artists, designers, street food and live musicians every Saturday.

We love the idea of a weekly food festival!

New weekly independent market | River Walk Market

Situated by the iconic Power Station on the south bank of the River Thames, where a new riverside destination bustling with restaurants, shops and bars has emerged, the market enjoys a fantastic location just a stone’s throw from Battersea Park and alongside the Battersea Pier. Visitors will be able to enjoy some of the best views of the river as well as the iconic Grade II* listed building up close as they peruse the stalls at the River Walk Market.

Focusing on high-quality independent makers, local producers, sellers and artisan food producers, River Walk Market’s line-up includes twenty-five producers including modern European deli and bakery, Popina, whose commitment to making great food with fresh, seasonal ingredients never wavers; The Flour Station, the award-winning artisan bakery keeping London well fed on sourdough and artisan bakes, cakes and pastries; Battersea Brewery, South West London’s very own micro-brewery; Sicilian cannoli gurus, Casa Cannoli, bringing Londoners a little piece of Sicily to their doorstep; Outsider Tart, an American bakery serving up authentic American soul food, from wholesome cupcakes to sweet pies and fresh tarts; and multi award-winning cheese and charcuterie trader, Heritage Cheese, specializing in fine cheeses from the British Isles. A guest pitch will also be reserved for a revolving spotlight to showcase and celebrate small businesses and emerging talent, featuring pop-up street food traders, including Bayou who will be bringing flavours of the deep South with the original New Orleans’ po’ boy sandwich, and Tongue n’ Cheek, whose Italian-inspired sustainable burgers have been voted one of the best burgers in London.

The market will host a weekly changing line up of craft makers and kicking things off will be Dasmarca, presenting their London-inspired ‘Postcode‘ range of hats; Starling & Hider, showcasing their range of handmade contemporary accessories; and Katiico Jewellery, with Ghanian-inspired jewellery. The weekend market will move to the beat of a weekly changing line-up of live musician and DJs, programmed by Busk in London.

River Walk Market | An idea of Real Food Festivals

River Walk Market is run by Real Food Festivals, who have been dedicated to celebrating the best of food & drink since 2008, staging some of the biggest food events in the UK, London and internationally. Fabio Diu, one of the directors of Real Food Festivals: “This exciting new riverside quarter at the foot of the iconic Battersea Power Station is now thriving, having been given a new lease of life. We are really looking forward to becoming part of this local community and offering a new space for people to enjoy their weekends eating, shopping and drinking the best of London’s independent producers.”

Nicola Casperson, Brand Director at Battersea Power Station, adds: “We are delighted to be welcoming a new weekly food and craft market to complement the existing array of restaurants, shops, cafes, bars and leisure offers at the first chapter of the Battersea Power Station regeneration. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than enjoying some delicious nibbles, exploring arts and crafts and soaking in the riverside atmosphere at one of London’s best-known landmarks. There is now so much to experience throughout the day and into the evening at Circus West Village, from the latest restaurant and bar openings to great fitness and beauty offers, a flower school and our very own cinema which opened a few weeks ago –this market is a welcome new addition to this already thriving community.”
