Recyclable cigarettes

4-6-2010

In the US 80 million pounds of cigarettes end up on the street or in the garbage every year. Councillor Michael G. DenDekker of Queens, New York, has recently discovered that cigarettes can be recycled into many useful products such as glue, sealants and even clothes. Smokers themselves will pay part of the costs. On each cigarette pack is a ‘recycletax’ of 1 cent.
