Hotel De Reiskoffer | Storytelling with a twist

24-10-2016

Golden Tulip Hotel ‘De Reiskoffer’ (translated: the travel suitcase) in Bosschenhoofd, Noord Brabant (the Netherlands) uses storytelling quite some years now. For example they give their guests a travelduck to take on their next travels since 2007. Recently a short movie was released, starring the hotel called ‘Avonturen bij de Buren’, which means adventures with the neighbours. Another great example of storytelling with a twist.

Storytelling with a twist

Hotel De Reiskoffer wanted everybody to know about all the facilities of the hotel, the banqueting rooms, the restaurant, the rooms and the surroundings. So they decided to create a short, kind of funny movie. In common agreement with the management, they decided to approach Bart Rennen to make this movie. The movie should tell the story of the hotel and show all the facilities but with a funny twist. The director of the movie was Ruben Peeters of Story Supplier. The official première was last Thursday, October 20th.

Travelduck

Since 2007 pictures of the travelduck can be found on the website of Hotel De Reiskoffer. We have written about similar examples before such as the rubber ducks of the Hampshire Hotels and the George Bear from the George Hotel in New Zealand. However, it doesn’t happen often that a hotel continues their storytelling as long as the travelduck of this hotel….

Inspiration from Golden Tulip Hotel De Reiskoffer

The travelduck is a good example of how to use a marketing campaign and keep using it. The pictures of guests are perfectly used at the social media accounts of the hotel. The pictures can be found on their Instagram account, Facebook and Twitter account and are categorized per year on their website. They tell the stories of the travel-loving hotel guests. We wonder how the responses will be with the ‘Avonturen bij de Buren’ movie. For now the video they can definitely use the movie on social media and their website. This short movie could appeal many people in their 20 and 30’s.
