The director of the Rijksmuseum opened the light artwork ‘Lightbattle’ on December 12. In the bicycle tunnel of the Rijksmuseum, where hundreds of cyclists pass through every day, a red and a blue team can compete with each other during a battle. The cyclists colour all lights win. The winners get a spectacular light show. The Lightbattle uses the energy of the cyclists and can be viewed until January 19. The Lightbattle is an idea of Venividimultiplex and developed by InventDesign.

Qbic Hotel London will replace all the hotel porcelain by sustainable design disposable tableware. The hotel will use the product lines: Sucadrops (made from sugar cane), Hampi (made of palm leaves) and Aspenware (made of wood). The disposable tableware is part of the products by the Dutch company SD Trading. After using the disposable tableware, it will be composted and spread out over the roof of the hotel. Additional benefits are the decrease of the dishwasher use , which saves energy and reduce of staff costs.
The Rio de Janeiro government has installed QR-mosaic in the sideways to provide tourists with more information and a map. The QR-code opens an app that makes road signs unnecessary.

This autumn/ winter the ‘Sassenstraat’ (name of the street) is illuminated with over 300 lights. Business owners, residents, property owners, City Centre Zwolle, volunteers and more have worked in recent weeks to make this lights show possible. The goals is to create a meeting place where living, working and shopping comes together. Especially during the dark winter days, the light show will be very attractive.
In a park in Paris, the French design studio ‘Bruit du frigo’ has created a resting place for visitors. A wooden installation with bathtubs is placed around a fountain. Visitors can relax and enjoy the art installations. A number of bathtubs are filled with water and some with pillows. The wooden sculpture shows that the park is open for everyone, friends and family to spend some time together. A place for relaxation, wellness and hospitality.
