In June, the very first covered ‘jeu de boules’ bar in Rotterdam North opens its doors: ‘Mooie Boules’ (Beautiful Boules). The old, characteristic metal factory in the upcoming ZOHO quarter in Rotterdam will be transformed into a French village square. Local restaurants (the names of which are not yet disclosed), will serve their signature dishes and at the bar a wide range of wine, specialty and local beers will be available. All this in combination with a game of ‘jeu de boules’. The location in Rotterdam opens on Vijverhofstraat 45 in Rotterdam-North in June. It seems like the Dutch love to play the famous French game!

  • Trends we spotted this week

At hospitalitytrends.eu we spot many national and international trends on a daily basis. We pick the most interesting ones to write about, the smaller trends we use in our weekly column ‘Trends we spotted this week’.

This week, among other links to articles about sleep concierges and other amenities high-end hotels offer their guests to guarantee a good night’s sleep and The first official Naanery opened in London.

In the future we can’t call a vegetarian hamburger a burger anymore, if European legislation becomes official. We don’t think it will be a big issue, we will eat ‘veggie discs’ as well! And in London a new Nobu Hotel at Portman Square will open in the Spring of 2020.

Horecatrends | Tips for culinary videos worth watching – week 16

18-4-2019

YouTube has been a source of inspiration for spotting trends past few years. Every day, thousands of movies are uploaded with new and interesting content. We too sometimes use videos as a source of inspiration to write about. With this week again a selection of videos which Micha Luksenburg thinks are worth watching.

This week a video about Chef Miro Uskokovic at the Gramercy Tavern who uses alternative sugars and he is making a delicious looking ‘ice cream sundae’ with these sugars. Next to that a video about a special collaboration between Airbnb and the Louvre museum and finally a video about drones delivering coffee in Australia. lees verder

Featuring Bella Thorne and Dani Thorne (COM3T), along with Caroline Vreeland, they are taking guests on a sensory-stimulating journey. The A.S.M.R. At hospitalitytrends.eu we spot many national and international trends on a daily basis. We pick the most interesting ones to write about, the smaller trends we use in our weekly column ‘Trends we spotted this week’.

This week, among other links to articles about a lemon for dessert at LROOM Café in New York and Kubus croissants at Weirdoughs in Melbourne. We also came across a special, ‘jiggly’ pancake dessert at Gram Café and Pancakes in San Francisco and Airbnb signed an agreement to acquire the HotelTonight website.

And would you have your saliva, urine or stool analysed before going out to eat sushi? The sushi is of course made on the basis of these analyses, but we don’t know! lees verder

Horecatrends | Tips for Culinary videos worth watching – week 15

YouTube has been a source of inspiration for spotting trends past few years. Every day, thousands of movies are uploaded with new and interesting content. We too sometimes use videos as a source of inspiration to write about. With this week again a selection of videos based upon April fools jokes which Demi Poppe thinks are worth it to watch.

This week a couple of April fools jokes in the hospitality & leisure world. Amongst them a video of the Dutch amusement park, Duinrell. They launched the Hyperkik, a hyperloop system with which you can visit more than forty attractions within one hour!  A similar joke was the MULTIcoaster from Thyssenkrupp, but this was more a kind of elevator. And the cutest Starbucks video ever, for April fools day they introduced Pupbucks, a Starbucks branch for dogs! lees verder
