The first of its kind, the self-pouring beer pump allows drinkers to pour their own pint of ale and pay with a touch of their contactless card or device in just 60 seconds. Pay @ Pump has been designed to help pubs and bars speed up service in response to a quarter of Brits saying that queuing for drinks is the worst part of a night out. Average waiting time at the bar during the festive party season is 12 minutes per order. Pay @ Pump is designed to help reduce queuing time especially during busy period like Christmas.

The best city hotel we have had the pleasure to visit! The World Heritage city of Porto has an iconic hotel, The Yeatman. With a breath-taking position overlooking the Douro River and the historic city centre, The Yeatman offers a great place to stay with stunning panoramic views from the terraces, the indoor and exterior pool (in the shape of a port bottle), the rooms and restaurants. Some of the small gestures of hospitality from The Yeatman, the naming of the rooms, the design elements, the housekeeping & maintenance and of course the friendly approach from all the staff.

Sign language and deaf baristas at Starbucks

A Starbucks in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia looks just like the other stores in the region. Baristas are handcrafting beverages with the rich aroma of coffee lingering in the air. However, when customers reach the counter to order a drink, they’ll notice something different. Instead of calling out beverage orders, baristas use sign language.
International allure at Patisserie de Rouw

After restyling Patisserie de Rouw has a design in which the pastries of Arthur de Rouw will be displayed beautifully. An entrance with international allure and an open kitchen for the costumers to see how the pastries are being made. Besides that, you can also order pastries via their new website and pick them up at a pick up point.
Youth Food Movement asks for food education

The Youth Food Movement thinks it should be mandatory to educate every child of the Netherlands about food. Awareness of food, harvest, learning to cook and healthy food at all schools. From the idea of having the right on good, healthy food and that they deserve to learn at an early age what is healthy. You can sign the petition at their website and join the conversation on social media with the hashtag #voedselonderwijs. We support this initiative and are convinced that there are a lot of chefs that could help with cooking classes on schools.

Ruben van Dieten from Brasserie NL in Leidschendam served a special diner on the 23th of May. The night was all about the salt-wine combinations. Together with Famous South-African chef Craig Cormack he presented a four-course menu with an important role for salt.
