Café Ter Marsch launches vegetarian steak tartare in collaboration with ‘De Hippe Vegetariër’

16-8-2017

Since last Monday, Café Ter Marsch in Rotterdam has a new vegetarian dish on the menu. The dish is a vegetarian steak tartare and was made in collaboration with a Dutch blog called ‘De Hippe Vegetariër’ (The Hip Vegetarian). This collaboration is the result of the Blogger Summer Vega Challenge, challenging bloggers to share a vegetarian recipe on social media for the restaurant.

Blogger Summer Vega Challenge

The steak tartare of De Hippe Vegetariër received the most likes on social media and was considered as best vegetarian recipe by the professional jury. One of the jury members said: “A surprising vegetarian dish with a bite and a touch of summer. The combination of tomato and mango makes your mouth watering.

The winning dish is now available on the menu at Café Ter Marsch. In addition, De Hippe Vegetariër is raffling a Summer Vega Dinner at Café Ter Marsch for two people. If you’re interested, make sure you follow De Hippe Vegetariër on social media.

The Ter Marsch family

The burger concept Ter Marsch & Co was launched early 2014 at the Witte de Withstraat in Rotterdam. Shortly after the opening, Ter Marsch & Co won the first prize with its burgers: ‘the Golden Burger Spatel’, followed by the prizes such as the ‘Best Burger of Rotterdam’ and ‘Best Burger of the Netherlands’.

In March 2016 a pop-up version of Ter Marsch & Co opened in Amsterdam on the corner of the Vijzelstraat / Bloemenmarkt. This pop-up was named as ‘Best Burger Bar of Amsterdam’ by Esquire. To celebrate their anniversary in March 2017, Ter Marsch designed the Wiedewietsaus, an organic cannabis sauce to use on a hamburger or fries.

The ‘youngest’ concept in the family is Café Ter Marsch, which is also located at the Witte de Withstraat in Rotterdam. A hotspot for lunch, dinner and drinks with classic cocktails, different wines, famous chickens from the charcoal grill and legendary snacks.
