Nice initiative of restaurant Soigné in Bussum (the Netherlands) and wine merchant Petit Clos (located in Bussum, Laren and Utrecht). Together they organise a special wine tasting in restaurant Soigné on Wednesday the 29th and Thursday the 30th of June. On these days the restaurant will serve its new 4-course menu Soigné for the first time, at the same time they let their guests decide which wines will be on the wine pairing menu!

Guests decide the wine pairing menu’s!

The guests will receive a glass of champagne at the beginning of the evening where after that they will get each 2 to 3 glasses of wine to taste during every dish. The gentlemen of wine merchant Petit Clos will answer questions, give tips and explain the wines. After every dish, the guests can evaluate the wines and give their opinion on a paper. Two nights full of tastings will define the wines for this menu.

Inspiration

The initiative came from the owner Frank Velthuyse, who always seems to succeed in making guests excited about the wine pairing menu. Guests envy his job creating the wine pairing menu, as he explains how it’s done. With his team around the table trying to determine which wines matches best with the new menu of co-owner and chef Dennis Jong. Now his guests can enjoy the search for the perfect food / wine combination. Together with Petit Clos they will create a wine pairing party!
