A study by Ipsos and IWSR |The Consumer Trends Shaping Adult Beverage
A new report from Ipsos and IWSR commissioned by AB InBev, offers fresh insights into the evolving behaviours of legal-drinking-age consumers around the world. The report, The Consumer Trends Shaping Adult Beverages, finds that while consumers are becoming more intentional about when, where and how they drink, alcohol continues to play an important role in social and cultural occasions.
The research identifies key trends shaping the future of the category: Moderation; Experience Economy; Premium & Affordability; Flavors & Convenience and Trust & Familiarity. The findings also highlight the growing strength of beer and beyond beer categories, which now account for more than half of total alcohol servings globally, supported by consumer demand for convenience, affordability and flavor exploration. You can download the white paper here.

Caviar Hotline experience at the Park Lane hotel in New York
Spotted at the Instagram account of Hotels Above Par | Boutique Hotels & Travel: the Caviar Hotline at the Park Lane New York. They think it might just be the only hotel in the world with a hotline for caviar. Guests just need to dial ‘5’ from their in-room telephone and Bemka Royal Ossetra arrives at the door with blinis, crème fraîche, shallots, and chives. Why not dedicate a number on your in-room telephone to a specialty of your own? For example, a portion of ‘bitterballen’ with a beer, at hotels in Amsterdam.

Pineau des Charentes spritz
Back in March 2023, our colleague Marjolein van Spronsen wrote a blog about the old-fashioned bicicletta bars in some parts of Italy, in short a bit like a Spritzeria. There are so many kinds of spritz served in bars and restaurants that it might be interesting to set up a spritz bar on your summer terrace or add a spritz section to your beverage menu. You might add a Pineau des Charentes spritz, as it seems to be gaining a lot of popularity in the US, according to this article from Food & Wine.
