Bagels & Beans declares ‘Code Purple’

After weather codes yellow, orange and red, there’s one more colour to watch this summer. Today, Bagels & Beans officially declares Code Purple. Not a warning for extreme weather, but for something far more light-hearted. The forecast? A heightened chance of purple moustaches, curious looks and a serious dose of FOMO.

At the centre of it all is FOMO: an iced matcha made with coconut drink, topped with a striking layer of purple ube cold foam. The summer special has already become a striking sight on terraces and social media. For Bagels & Beans, that’s reason enough to take it further in July with Code Purple. Homeland Puur Pils | Amsterdam gets its lager back

After ten years of brewing award-winning craft beers, Amsterdam’s Brouwerij Homeland is taking a bold step: brewing its own lager, Homeland Puur Pils. For the first time in decades, Amsterdam has a lager that doesn’t come from a factory, but from an independent brewery with roots in the city. A refreshing and highly drinkable lager made with pure ingredients and a clean taste you simply can’t get enough of. Head brewer Wietse Postma and his team spent nearly two years developing the recipe. The result is a precisely brewed lager of 4.9% alcohol with a crisp flavour and a characterful drinkability.

From 1 to 5 July, the launch was officially celebrated at Homelanding, the annual festival of Brouwerij Homeland and Cantina Mobilé at the Marineterrein. Homeland Puur Pils is available on tap at various cafés, restaurants and hospitality venues in and around Amsterdam since June. Check out the Homeland website, link in the title.

Pick up your pizza by kayak at the ‘Paddle In’ at Otomat in Ghent

All you need to do is place your order via the website and give them a call when you arrive, after which a staff member will come to the waterside door to bring you your order. Ghent’s canals are perfect for kayaking, hence the name ‘Otomat Paddle In’. Check out their website, link in the title.

Mission World Menu | Delicious treats from around the world at McDonald’s Germany

When McDonald’s Germany temporarily added international product highlights to its German menus last year, the response was overwhelming. The campaign demonstrated just how strong the fascination with McDonald’s global diversity is and just how great the curiosity about products from other countries can be.

McDonald’s Germany is now building on this success with ‘Mission: World Menu’. Since 1 July, 23 international product highlights are brought together under a new campaign umbrella and will form part of an experience-driven global storyline, which will be adapted by various markets. The idea originated from an unusual question: what if McDonald’s were to ‘steal’ from McDonald’s? More details in their press release, link in the title.
