COBRA HOUSE will open a new location in Antwerp on October 12, as the second location of the Antwerp-based COBRA concept. After thirty years of operation, Nova Hotel Amsterdam is now fully owned by the family-run B.K.A. Loetje opens in Oegstgeest on October 30 | New location at Klinkenbergerplas
On Thursday, October 30, Loetje will open its doors at Klinkenbergerplas in Oegstgeest, a beloved nature spot between Oegstgeest and Warmond. The new venue features a warm interior and panoramic views over the water, welcoming guests daily for lunch, drinks, and dinner.
Sandra van Halderen, CEO of Restaurant Company Europe, the group behind Loetje, calls it “a unique location that fits Loetje perfectly.” She adds: “The view, the setting, and the atmosphere are exactly what Loetje stands for. It took some time, but the result is worth it. We’ll keep looking for these kinds of gem locations.”
Known for nearly fifty years for its famous steak in real gravy, Loetje now celebrates the opening of its 38th restaurant in the Netherlands. The menu also features burgers, satay, fish dishes, vegetarian options, and desserts. Check out their website in the link in the title.

COBRA-Antwerp opens new location in Antwerp on October 12
After months of preparation, COBRA HOUSE opens its doors on October 12 as the second location of the Antwerp-based COBRA concept, at Markgravelei 95. Housed in a former glercy house that has been expanded and completely transformed, COBRA HOUSE brings the same energy as COBRA City but with more space, calm, and atmosphere.
The interior was created in collaboration with Gestalt Architects, the kitchen designed under supervision of chef Orlando Schuitema by Maes Kitchens, and the garden landscaped by Siegbert Van Reeth.
Guests can enjoy several themed spaces: a restaurant with garden views, a covered patio, a bar, a lounge with fireplace, and a vast 1,000 m² garden featuring small islands, a vegetable garden and chickens. The kitchen serves dishes such as pizzettes, rotisserie chicken, pasta with king crab, and sea bass baked in a salt crust. Music and ambiance are curated by the Cobra Sound Ensemble, featuring carefully crafted playlists and DJ sets. COBRA HOUSE is not a copy, but a new chapter: “same DNA, other frequency.” Link to their website in the link in the title.
Nova Hotel Amsterdam| Property in family hands, next generation steps in
After thirty years of operation, Nova Hotel Amsterdam is now fully owned by the family-run B.K.A. Groep. Owners Marcel and Lily Berendsen have not only acquired the property of the three-star hotel with 67 rooms on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, but have also passed daily management to their son, Olivier Berendsen (35).
With this acquisition, the historic hotel, which consists of five front houses and three rear houses, partly national monuments near the Dam, is now entirely in family hands. The change of ownership allows for investments in sustainability and further development. Olivier Berendsen joins as a shareholder and takes over management from his parents, who have built the hotel since the 1990s.
“It feels very special that the hotel is now truly part of the family, and that Olivier will carry it forward,” says Marcel Berendsen. Olivier adds, “With the hotel under our own ownership, we can innovate and build for the future of Nova Hotel.” Link to their website in the title.
