About the founders of ‘Lego for Food’

The story of the founders of Winning Foods is inspiring: for Jef and Frederik, the driving forces behind the company, healthy eating is much more than a business venture; it is a personal journey. Jef managed to lose an impressive 20 kilograms of excess weight after he made the switch to a healthy diet. This is not only a change in his physical appearance, but it has transformed his overall quality of life. And Frederick has an even deeper connection to healthy eating. He attributes much of his recovery from cancer to the transformation of his eating habits.

Lego for food, a revolution in healthy meal prep

Winning Foods aims to revolutionize healthy mealprep with its ‘Lego for Food’. The concept revolves around 16 frozen building blocks consisting of a clever mix of vegetables, carbohydrates and proteins. These form the foundation for an endless variety of delicious dishes, including a range of all-vegetable options. Think of putting together your own culinary masterpieces, but as simple as clicking Lego bricks together.

To make the process run smoothly, Winning Foods is supported by a handy smartphone app. Thanks to the team’s background in Internet technology, this app offers guidance in choosing ingredients, assembling recipes and planning meals. This makes healthy eating accessible and easy, even for those with little time.

Start Winning Foods

Winning Foods recently raised € 500,000 of investment from 9.5 Ventures, venture capital investors, and a large producer of fruits and vegetables, among others. With this, they can now start to market their products. Currently, Winning Foods is supplying the first 30 test families, with whom is being cooperated closely. A next round of investment is on their schedule, this should support scaling up. Those interested in the product can already sign up to their waiting list.

“It is heavily underestimated how important a healthy diet is and at the same time how difficult it is for busy families to get healthy food on the table on a regular basis. We are changing that.” Says Jef Cavens, founder of Winning Foods.

Winning Foods recently delivered an initial version of their products to 30 families and, based on their feedback, is busy preparing the next delivery to 30 families in December. Sales of the products are currently through demo nights, similar to Tupperware’s. More information, ordering a test kit or attending a demo can be obtained through their website.
