Specialty beer subscription De Proeftuin (The Tasting Garden) of Hertog Jan

Hertog Jan’s Tasting Garden, is the ultimate subscription for foodies and lovers of special drinks. With the holidays approaching, this might be suitable inspiration when you want to put something different under the Christmas tree.

After Micha Peute took over last year from – now nestor brewer – Gerard van den Broek, he is mainly responsible for trying new techniques, experimenting with ingredients and creating flavors in the brewery. The first year as Master Brewer was immediately a special one because of the arrival of The Tasting Garden. This year’s final special beer is a wheat wine that lends itself perfectly to being aged in barrels. And with that, they may immediately give a little hint for one of next year’s beers. More on this subscription in the link in the title.

Pianeta Terra, best Italian restaurant in the Netherlands again

When Fabio Antonini, Laura Martini and Raul Mini opened the doors of their organic restaurant Pianeta Terra in Amsterdam’s Beulingstraat in 2000, the biggest challenge was to find local suppliers who could meet their high standards. With Fabio’s ambassadorship for the Slow Food Chef’s Alliance Network, the bar was raised even higher. In Pianeta Terra’s open kitchen, you will find only ingredients that are 100% organic, often forgotten, sometimes even unwanted and – with the exception of the wines, cheeses and oils – of Dutch origin. True to its sustainable mission and authentic since day one, this progressive slow food restaurant recently entered the top 20 on 50 Top Italy’s list of the world’s 50 best Italian restaurants (www.50TopItaly.it). With a fantastic 19th place, according to the jury of this leading list, Pianeta Terra is also the best Italian restaurant in the Netherlands. Not only does it receive international praise, Italy Magazine also awarded Pianeta Terra the best Italian restaurant in the Netherlands.
