Citadines Canal Amsterdam opens its doors soon

Between Spiegelgracht and Reguliersgracht, in the heart of Weteringbuurt, Citadines Canal Amsterdam will open in March 2024. Behind the historic facade, a modern world is awaiting you with attractively designed apartments. There are four types of apartments where guests can compose their own perfect stay. Rent an umbrella, plant a tree | Dripdrop at DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam CS

As part of sustainable business practices, DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station has recently partnered with Dripdrop, offering its guests sustainable umbrellas on rainy days. By renting out Dripdrop umbrellas, the company contributes to the Eden Reforestation Projects. This is an international non-profit organisation that works in developing countries to rebuild natural landscapes destroyed by deforestation. With more than 977 million trees planted by Eden to date, choosing a Dripdrop umbrella makes a positive impact on the environment, as part of the proceeds of each umbrella supports these projects. Furthermore, the umbrellas’ fabric is made of 100% recycled plastic, equivalent to five 0.5-litre bottles. Smart system, check out how Hilton offers these umbrellas in the video below. Basecamp Eco-resorts has acquired boutique hotel The Unbound in Amsterdam

Basecamp Eco-resorts’ mission is to develop a global network of eco-resorts on the world’s most beautiful places. A total of seven parks have been acquired, some of which are still under development. Resorts in the middle of nature, where sustainability and co-creation are central. The Unbound Amsterdam, located in the green part of Amsterdam-West, is one of the resorts in their portfolio. The boutique hotel will continue under the wings of Basecamp Eco-resorts. The management of The Unbound was already taken over in summer 2023. Freed Developments announced a 5-star luxury hotel and residences project in Toronto

Visionary real estate developer Peter Freed of Freed Developments announces first-ever Freed Hotel and Residences tower located in Toronto. Designed by Chicago-based tall building experts Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, renowned for the next world’s tallest and most luxurious skyscraper Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia, as well as Central Park Tower in New York, the project will feature 100 five star luxury hotel rooms and 400 luxury condominiums with a world class Skybar/restaurant on the 63rd floor, boutique spa, and a 10,000 sq ft Katsuya Restaurant on the 2nd floor. Hot Honey ‘Goodbye Pies’ | Pizza Hut USA helped breaking up relationships for Valentine’s Day

Do you know what ‘Red Tuesday’ means and when it is? It’s the Tuesday before Valentine’s Day, the day that the most break ups of the year happen. Pizza Hut launched their limited-edition Hot Honey ‘Goodbye Pies’ on Red Tuesday this year, to help deliver spicy news in a sweet way for FREE. By sending a Goodbye Pie, Pizza Hut helped you break up with your significant other by delivering a personalized, simple message on custom packaging with a sweet and spicy Hot Honey pizza to ease the pain. The custom Goodbye Pie pizza boxes also had a space on the top for the break-upper’s name to be added. We don’t suppose it’s any better than a breakup via WhatsApp!

‘Yesway’ | Subway® Canada played cupid

Subway® Canada showed that anything is possible when Canadians say ‘Yesway’ to new experiences and partnered with relationship expert Kimberly Moffit to demonstrate how they could break bread and make a new connection. To help Canadians freshen up their dating life, Subway® Canada inspired the nation with their take on a ‘Meat Cute’ last Valentine’s Day. Cupid shot his arrow to unsuspecting singletons, asking if they were open to a new connection – and a free lunch. The experiment, captured on camera, launched on the Subway Canada Instagram and TikTok page as couples sat down for a chance encounter over a delicious sandwich. Ice cream inspiration | Soft serve with deep fried sweet potato

Joods, SF Bay Area Foodie brought us this ice cream inspiration! Deep-fried sweet potato tempura soft serve. You can enjoy it at motoyoshi_imo, a supermarket at Daikanyama station in Tokyo. It’s salty milk soft serve with deep fried sweet potato topped with crispy tempura bits. According to the influencer it’s a perfect balance of savoury and sweet.

Croissants in the shape of a bow tie

Recently Marjolein wrote a blog about the huge amount of croissant variations! She is clearly a part of the “just give me a regular croissant” camp. But we came across 2 new variations this week including an Instagram post from eatnlondon! A ‘rhubarb and hibiscus bow tie’ at Layla Bakery on Portobello Road in London. This looks special, a ‘Flat Croissant’. The Instagram post by Rachel | Bay Area Food & Beyond also talks about comparing it to a ‘palmier,’ lots of butter, crispy and sweet. She bought this ‘flat croissant’ at Alexander’s Patisserie. Their Instagram account looks like a source of inspiration for bakers. Link to their website in the title.
