Chef Joris Bijdendijk has received the first designer shoe for chefs with Michelin-soles at the Dutch Horecava, the trade fair for hotels and restaurants. These professional work shoes are designed by chefs clothing company Chaud Devant in collaboration with the French tire company Michelin. They worked intensively at this innovative product for more than a year. The result is a series of shoes with excellent flexibility and an ingenious non-slip design that supports fast movements in several directions without losing its grip. This creates a safer working environment for chefs and lighter, more comfortable shoes.

The first designer shoe for chefs with Michelin soles developed by Chaud Devant

The GT1pro Magister is the first series shoes Chaud Devant developed specifically for chefs. The shoe is designed by Rucky Zambrano and made from waterproof leather and will soon be available in a high and low model. The shoe has no laces, to be able to put them on quickly. They also stitched and sewed as little as possible whih makes the shoe easy to clean. The shoe is lightweight, provides excellent support and has a die-cast aluminium safety toe cap. The lining keeps bacteria and moisture outside. The special insole provides extra cushioning and comfort. The innovative outsole with anti-slip design has been developed with Michelin Technical Soles.

Anti-slip function

The outsole is inspired by two Michelin tires, the Pilot Sport 3 and Star Grip. The stress and pressure of dirt roads and smoothness of wet roads are the basis of the anti-slip function in this new sole. The designers of the Michelin Technical Soles have created a specific type of rubber that is extremely slip resistant, abrasion resistant and water-repellent. In addition, the design has two different areas. In the large surface of the sole can be seen numerous small studs, which provide for direct ground contact on slippery surfaces. From the mid-foot broad, lateral grooves are placed.
