Stayokay Eindhoven has recently completed an extensive renovation, which includes the addition of innovative pods to its room offering. Located in a former Philips factory on the vibrant Strijp-S site, the hostel now presents itself as a fresh and accessible accommodation option for a wide range of travellers. Both the rooms and common areas have been updated while preserving the characteristic charm of the historic building.

The Stayokay DNA | Low-threshold, social, and sustainable

The rooms have been fitted with new beds and modern wallpaper in the signature Stayokay style. The reception area and the Blue Collar Café have also undergone a makeover. What was once a dark entrance has been transformed into a bright and welcoming space that reflects the Stayokay brand identity.

New at Stayokay Eindhoven

Among the new additions are so-called pods – compact sleeping units within shared rooms that offer guests extra privacy without sacrificing the social element of a hostel. Each pod features its own light, power outlet, and privacy curtain. “Our guests are increasingly looking for comfort and personal space without losing the connection with fellow travellers,” says Marijke Schreiner, CEO of Stayokay. “This renovation is a conscious response to that need.”

In addition to the pods, the number of 2-person comfort rooms has been expanded, and new 4-person (family) rooms with bunk beds have been added. With this refreshed room offering, including both pods and private rooms, Stayokay Eindhoven now caters to a broader audience – from solo travellers and backpackers to couples and families. Thanks to its location at Strijp-S, surrounded by concept stores, galleries, and coffee bars, it’s the perfect base for a surprising overnight stay in the Netherlands.

Stayokay Rotterdam is next in line

Eindhoven isn’t the only location getting an upgrade: Stayokay is investing in multiple hostels and continues to evolve. Following the renovation in Eindhoven, a major overhaul of Stayokay Rotterdam is planned. This includes a sustainable and welcoming redesign of the iconic cube houses in this city!

Just recently Stayokay aired a ‘This is not a hostel’-campaign.
