XXL edition Rrrollend Den Haag at the Malieveld

Until Sunday August 6th, Rrrollend Den Haag XXL will be at the Malieveld with dozens of food trucks, specialty beer bars, a turning mill and more. With 22 editions a year, spread throughout the country, Rrrollend is the biggest food truck festival in the Netherlands. Rrrollend usually stretches down in the city centre, like the Lange Voorhout in The Hague a few months ago. But not this time during a XXL edition on the Malieveld. Due to the fact that this location is a lot bigger, it means that Rrrollend The Hague consists out of twice the amount food trucks than normal (over 40!). Besides, there is an extensive musical lineup and extra entertainment for the children. read more

In a historic house at one of the canals in the heart of Amsterdam, Spingaren tasting room & restaurant will open its doors this fall. Spingaren is a company that makes charcuterie artisanal and pickle and ferment vegetables and fish. Due to the fact that the team has been working in the hospitality business in the past, they decided to combine both passions and open a restaurant specialised in charcuterie and pickles. read more

One of the unique characteristics of ice cream is the fact that it combines very well with several products. In May we already published a bucket list with ice cream parlours but in the meanwhile we already posted 10 more stories about ice cream. A new list thus with amongst others one of the first ice cream parlours in the Netherlands that sells rolled ice cream, a parlour where DIY soft serve ice cream is being served and a cotton candy burrito with ice cream but also ice cream with alcohol like gin tonic or with beer. We are curious which Dutch ice cream parlour starts selling the black ice cream. It’s a total Instagram hype at the moment! read more

It’s summer, which means that the magic warehouse of city brewery Stadsbrouwerij ‘De Koninck’ in Antwerp has been transformed into a temporary summer bar. After Summer Josephine’s and Smokey Jo’s Garage, the brewery’s interior garden will house Smokey Jo’s Cantina this year. The ultimate place to relax in the city. Prepare for a thick layer of white sand and palm trees, beach chairs and hammocks. read more

As of July 1, Asian BBQ opened for the 3rd time in the stately high-rise corner at the entrance of the Dakpark. As a traveling restaurant, Asian BBQ is looking forward to new places. However, they are already on the Hudson Square 7b for the 3rd season and again for six months. Here they are open from Wednesday to Sunday from 17:30 until 23:00. From the restaurant you walk up to the Roof Park for a Pinto Picnic. A place worth a detour and to enjoy a traditional Thai BBQ. read more

Visitors of the Zwarte Cross festival in the Netherlands can make a pit stop at ‘t Noorden in Aalten. The festival will start this weekend and party centre and pancake house ‘t Noorden is located on the route towards the festival. To attract more visitors in the days before the festivals, they decided to put some extra items on their menu. One of them is Nozem Ice Cream, made in collaboration with a farm where ice cream is being made. The ice cream is based on a popular drink being sold at Zwarte Cross: Nozem Oil. read more
