Inspired by Nutella®, The Original Hazelnut Spread®, the exclusive one weekend only pop-up will treat three Nutella super-fans and their guests to an unforgettable breakfast experience that showcases new and exciting ways to enjoy the hazelnut spread. Consumers interested in vying for a reservation for the weekend of January 10-12, 2020 can apply for the chance to win a visit to the property by going to the website of Hotella Nutella, and creating a video that demonstrates how Nutella makes their mornings special. Earlier this year we wrote about the pop-up Taco Bell Hotel and the Airbnb Barbie home. It looks like marketing departments of famous brands found their way into the hotel world! We wonder when their will be pop-up in a Dutch hotel?

Sleeping in a potato | The Potato Hotel

In the region known for … you guessed it: potatoes (!), this giant potato has been placed and has an Airbnb function. The giant fake potato, before being used as an Airbnb accommodation, drove across America to promote potatoes. After the promotion tour, the potato got its new destination as Airbnb room.

Great way to promote a product! An Airbnb room would be great in some regions in the Netherlands as well, we have a lot of potato fields! Or how about a giant Airbnb wooden clog or giant Tulip in the tulip fields ;-).

This week a video about Chef Miro Uskokovic at the Gramercy Tavern who uses alternative sugars and he is making a delicious looking ‘ice cream sundae’ with these sugars. This week, among other links to articles about a lemon for dessert at LROOM Café in New York and Kubus croissants at Weirdoughs in Melbourne. We also came across a special, ‘jiggly’ pancake dessert at Gram Café and Pancakes in San Francisco and Airbnb signed an agreement to acquire the HotelTonight website.

And would you have your saliva, urine or stool analysed before going out to eat sushi? The sushi is of course made on the basis of these analyses, but we don’t know! read more

Their Kickstarter campaign last year pledged more than 1 million by 10,474 backers. We wonder when we’re going to hear from hotel owners that they spotted guests using the CleanseBot! read more

Michelin released their ‘Cantonese Food Guide 2019’, this is the first Michelin guide that focuses on a cuisine, not a city or region. And also a link to a video  about the Avocaderia in Brooklyn and the EFSA (the European Food Safety Authority) has developed a new food safety management approach that makes it simpler for small retailers to donate food. This week, amongst others about the Amsterdam Terraces Festival at the end of August in the Rembrandtpark during which the finish of the summer is celebrated. Starbucks joins forces with a cryptocurrency venture so that the Bitcoin could break through as regular currency. Next weekend the GinFever festival will be held in Schiedam and the Dutch coffee concept Kaldi opens its first branch in Denmark. Chiringuito has opened in a former public toilet in London (and it looks great!) and in Paris you can enjoy ‘Ducasse sur Seine’ as from September 4th.

This week, amongst others about artichoke toast, it seems to low in calories and high in fiber, vitamins and minerals! So move over avocado toast because artichoke toast sounds just as delicious! A robot will serve pizzas in France and Alain Ducasse wil open a chocolate shop in London. London will try to tackle overtourism with a game you’ll play on your mobile phone, ‘Play London With Mr. Bean’.

This week, amongst others about the ice cream shop Ben & Jerry’s in London that kicked off a blockchain initiative to let customers offset their carbon footprint. And about the new food app Provision that connects food pantries to eliminate food waste. Parisian confectioner Fauchon is best known for their delicious and beautifully crafted desserts and pastries and now they announced that they will be opening a hotel in Paris, from haute cuisine to hospitality! Who knows maybe guests will find one of their delicious pastries on their pillow after turndown service ;-).
