Furthermore, guests can count on good value for money and convivial Brabant hospitality at a high level.

The Dining Room is located above mooR Wining & Dining

The Dining Room seats 30 guests and is located on the first floor in the Balcony Room of the former hotel-restaurant De Swaen, where private dinners, tastings and meetings were held in days gone by. It is the second business of Gerdine (48) and Bart van Hal (45), who have run mooR Wining & Dining on the ground floor since 2010, a modern bistro where there is also room for extended drinks.

Wink to the past of the legendary hotel restaurant De Swaen

The restaurant is a nod to the past of De Swaen, where Bart van Hal was the last maître d’hôtel until its closure in 2005. Bart van Hal: “Chef de cuisine of The Dining Room is 37-year-old Dirk Zwerts, who joined mooR as chef after the closure of his highly regarded restaurant Prikkelz in 2019. Among the awards Prikkelz received was a wonderful recommendation in the Michelin Guide, a 3T review in De Telegraaf and almost entered the Lekker’s top 100. Nice detail is that we already worked together in the former Swaen, back then I saw that Dirk was of an exceptional level. Dirk is culinarily responsible for The Dining Room and advises the chef of mooR.”

Gastronomic delights with a touch of nostalgia

The Dining Room offers creative modern cuisine with international influences. A touch rebellious and with a nod to classic French cuisine. Bart van Hal: “In the kitchen, Dirk is assisted by chef Niels van der Meer. Everything is made in-house with top-quality products. We offer a distinctive combination of gastronomic enjoyment with a touch of nostalgia, a good price-quality ratio and convivial Brabant-style hospitality. In addition, with mooR Wining & Dining on the ground floor, we offer a nice combination of bistro and luxury restaurant.”

Hospitality Burgundian style in The Dining Room

At the front, maître Wout Wagemakers and hostess Wade Jansen take care of the guests. Bart van Hal: “The guest is preceded to the table and atmospheric jazz music can be heard. Wout inherited Burgundian hospitality at birth and the always smiling Wade has an eye for the smallest detail. Our sommelier Bas van de Wiel manages the extensive wine list, which has plenty of room for classic wines from the European continent.”

The menu consists of a biweekly changing menu of four (€59.50) or five courses (€74). In addition, a two-course lunch menu is available at noon (€39.50), which can be served within 45 minutes if required. Additionally, a dish with foie gras and a selection of European cheeses is available.
