Restaurant Noor in the city Groningen in the north of the Netherlands has recently been awarded with a Michelin star and is giving students a 50% discount on their entire bill this fall. Owners Marleen and Jeroen Brouwer want to make dining in a top restaurant more accessible to students and thus invest in potential guests of the future. The student offer runs from September through December 2022 and is valid every second Tuesday of the month.

First Michelin star within 3 months for restaurant Noor

Restaurant Noor of the chefs Marleen and Jeroen Brouwer officially opened on 1 March 2022 in Groningen and was awarded its first star by restaurant guide Michelin on 30 May 2022. Shortly before, Noor had entered the Dutch Gault&Millau guide as the highest newcomer with 16 points on a scale of 20. Marleen Brouwer: “After all the enthusiastic response from our guests and reviewers of newspapers and magazines, this is the icing on the cake. We are super happy and proud that we have already received such wonderful ratings from the guides within three months.”

Making top gastronomy accessible for students

Jeroen Brouwer: “At the same time, we realize that a Michelin star can be a barrier for young people who are interested in good food and drinks. We are in our thirties and eating with us is casual and not stiff. But we use top products, so there is a price tag. That’s why we want to offer young students who are interested in gastronomy the opportunity to eat in a top restaurant at an affordable price. We remember very well that eating at a high level was often unattainable for us when we were still studying, while as culinary geeks we were so eager to get inspired. We also want young people who are studying hospitality to experience the same experience that used to excite us and that motivated us to work even harder to reach the top. By offering them a substantial discount of 50% on the entire bill, they can get acquainted with high-level food and we hope that they will be the potential guests of the future.”

Conditions and reservations

The student promotion applies to students between the ages of 18 and 25 who are actually studying and can prove it. Table companions who do not meet the action conditions pay the regular prices. The promotion is not valid in combination with packages, vouchers or other discounts. Reservations can be made through the reservation system on Noor’s website, where a special student option is shown for the available dates. Reservations can be made three months in advance.
