Vogue Café on November 25th at the National Day Against Violence Against Women
Vogue is opening Vogue Café for the first time ever in the Netherlands, in collaboration with ‘StandUp’ by L’Oreal Paris. The two are joining forces on National Day Against Violence Against Women to draw attention to street harassment. The café will open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on November 25th and will feature special performances such as a performance by spoken word artist Zaire Krieger and singer Bente.

From bistro to Vogue Café
For one day only, Libertine Café des Prés in the Pijp district in Amsterdam will be transformed into Vogue Café, a place where you can go for breakfast, brunch or dinner for a specially curated Vogue menu. Between 9am and 2pm, everyone is welcome for a free coffee-to-go to kick off the day and draw attention to the violence against women that still happens on a large scale every day, especially street harassment. To this end, L’Oréal Paris in collaboration with RightoBe and FairSpace developed the so-called Stand Up training, a training that aims to reduce street violence.
5D Method international training programme
Sexual harassment on the streets worldwide is one of the biggest problems women face every day. L’Oréal Paris decided to launch a project to combat the violence in 2020 and developed the Stand Up Against Street Harassment programme, in partnership with Right To Be. The international training programme teaches everyone through the 5D method (Distract, Delegate, Document, Delay and Direct) to respond safely when they witness or are victims of street harassment. The training is available both live and online and is offered free of charge to businesses and employees, with the aim of giving as many people as possible the knowledge and tools to respond correctly and safely in threatening situations. Trainers will be present in the café throughout the day to explain to everyone in 10 minutes how the method works.
Vogue Café will be open from 9am till midnight on November 25th. Different timeslots can be booked, for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Between 9am and 2pm, there will be a coffee-to-go stand outside on the terrace and you can also attend the training. Reservations can be made here, you have to be quick!
