Frozen food producer ‘Birds Eye’ found out that around 52% of the people take pictures of their meals. This gave Birds Eye the idea to open the pop-up restaurant ‘Picture House’ where consumers can pay their bill in a special way. Guests pay by taking a pictures of their meal and share it on Instagram with the hashtag #BirdsEyeInspirations. This promotion is part of the digital campaign to promote their new range of premium evening meals. The pop-up restaurant ‘Picture House’ opens in Soho, London this week and will pop-up in Manchester and Leeds in June.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts guest loyalty program Starwood Preferred Guest advertises on Instagram. It is the first advertising campaign by a travel brand on the social media platform. The campaign runs through February 4 on mobile and desktop devices. The photos used in advertising on Instagram are already published by the brands and promoted within the feed of people who don’t follow them.

Reallifeinstagram in Utrecht

There are seven real life Instagram signs placed around the new building of music stage ‘TivoliVredenburg’ in Utrecht, to give it more attention. Passers-by can make photos through one of the colored filters and share it via Social Media with the hastag #TivoliVredenburg and #reallifeinstagram. #reallifeinstagram was created by the Brazilian artist Bruno Ribeiro. He placed thirty cardboard Instagram signs with color filters nearby London’s attractions. He wanted to imitate the filters used by Instagram.

Now it is possible to print your favorite Instagram photos on marshmallows. Very simple, you choose nine of your favorite Instagram photos and Boomf delivers the pictures on 4cmx4cm vanilla marshmallows. The site advises to use relative simple pictures with a good contrast. At this moment, the marshmallows are only available in the United Kingdom for £ 12, but there are plans to introduce the marshmallows internationally next year. A nice gift for the holidays: a marshmallow with your favorite photo into a hot chocolate during the cold winter days.

After the Twitter hotel in Majorca, the first Instagramhotel is now opened in Australia. Hotel 1888 has 90 rooms decorated with photos take by guests and is fully dedicated to Instagram. When you have more than 10.000 followers on Instagram you will get a free stay at the hotel and the guest/photographer of the Instagramphoto (of the hotel) of the month also receives a free additional stay. The hotel has a special room where you can take photos of yourself and guests are guided through the environment by an Instagram map.

Restaurant Comodo, located in New York, introduced an Instagram menu. When you cannot decide what to order, check out the recommendations of your friends through the photo application Instagram. You can upload your photo’s as well under the hashtag #ComodoMenu to suggest your friends about the Comodo menu.
