Last year we wrote about a Kickstarter project from entrepreneur Chloë, she was funding to open her own ‘Glass Jars’ concept in New York. On the 24th of March it will be the National Pancake Day in the Netherlands. On this day, elementary school students throughout the country will be baking pancakes for elderly in their neighbourhood. At all Dutch markets and in many shops you can buy fresh nut butters from all kind of nuts. Well it seems that this craze came has reached England as well. We spotted a pop-up in the Selfridges Food Halls, the Pip & Nut Toast Bar. The pop-up will be there until the 12th of February. The bar will serve a selection of gourmet toast with toppers as peanut butter, grated apple and maple syrup to avocado.

The Netherlands is a real potato country. Because of the excellent climate potatoes have been growing there for centuries. They are cheap and every Dutchie has his ‘own’ potato dish. A product to be proud of! However, knowing that the potato is one of the most wasted vegetable in the country is less inspiring. Magic Cake

Recently all over the internet: Magic Cake. We spotted it on Instagram, Facebook and even The Telegraph wrote an article about the miraculous recipe that make three cakes in one! The cake is made of the typical cake batter ingredients (sugar, butter, flour, milk and eggs). The egg yolk, flour, milk and butter are prepared separate from the egg whites and combined right before the unique baking process at low temperatures. Creating a three layered Magic Cake. With a spongy top, a custardy middle layer and a moisty cake base. Although we think that these kind of cakes have been made for years we couldn’t resist making one and try it!
