Crusty Slices in Germany - a croissant pizza hybrid - image rendered by AIEvery day we spot fun, new concepts. This week, we spotlight three new concepts in Germany! Crusty Slices in Aachen, Cologne and Frankfurt, is a fun concept that sells croissant dough slices with pizza toppings, sold in pretty boxes. They are growing fast in Germany, and are looking for franchisees. There are also franchise opportunities at Hanover-based HOTBOXXX, where you get your food out of the wall. Unusual though, you can also pull an entire menu out of the vending machines. And, of course, a few Dutch specialities. Puffle Bees is a concept that has been in Berlin since 2021, they too serve hybrids like the croffle (which they thus call the Puffle) and Egg Drops. They will soon open their second branch in Hanover.

But we spotted more inspiration like the Wish Tree of Fauchon l’Hôtel Paris, the afternoon tea’s at Le Meurice in Paris and their Bûches de Noël (Yule Logs) by Frederic Grolet. And the Afternoon Tea at the Great Scotland Yard hotel looks very Christmassy! Some great examples by luxury hotels. Who knows some of it might inspire you!

Pulled fresh off the iron with a sweet sugar glaze, the Croffles are available in six delicious varieties as well as a build-your-own option, now available at the Cerritos, CA location as a test kitchen launch. Croffles will be available at more Creamistry locations later this summer.

Amarula 
Alle (+ nog te lanceren) Amarula likeurenThe range of South African Amarula cream liqueurs has expanded with the arrival of two new flavors. The first Amarula vegan cream liqueur has the recognizable taste of the rare marula fruit, combined with coconut, caramel and vanilla. Unlike the other variants of the liqueur, the vegan Amarula contains no dairy. Another new flavor will be launched at the end of this year: Ethiopian Coffee, a deliciously creamy liqueur with a coffee flavour.
Last week I went to Rotterdam for Horecatrends to taste the new Amarula flavors. I had never tasted Amarula before, but I had heard of the brand. Normally I’m not a cream liqueur lover, but the Amarula liqueurs have now become the exception for me! My favourite? The new flavor: Ethiopian Coffee. ^Sifra Holtslag

It’s pumpkin time again! The apple pie in the Netherlands, is as popular as the pumpkin pie in America. Even here in the Netherlands we see more and more ‘pumpkin flavor’ in combination with coffee, which addresses the sweet tooth of young people! The innovation here is that this drink is a cold coffee with a layer of plant-based foam with pumpkin taste. Here the cold brew isn’t very popular yet and certainly not as popular as in America.
