Madness Minigolf Warmond

Madness is a new DIY hospitality venue where the public is overwhelmed by a world of colour, fierce prints, gold details and velours. Owner Caroline Dekker explains: “We want to offer leisure concepts with a real ‘wow’ factor. The challenge was precisely to turn corny mini-golf into a chic, fancy and photo-worthy activity.” It is also a multi-channel experience because everything has been done so that visitors can create eye-catching content. “You will want to share your experience with your friends on Insta or TikTok, and of course we hope they come too, I’ll be honest about that”, says Caroline.

Pink gorillas & XXXL cocktails

The design was done by in-house Concept Designer Alexander de Bruin and Caroline herself. “It’s a combination of playing and shining on the most frenziedly designed holes with matching names”,  continues Dekker. ‘Monkey Madness’ is a hole where you play under the course’s eye-catcher – a giant pink gorilla with gold necklace. ‘Pretty Fly’ lets your minigolf ball fly after which you take your selfie in the aeroplane seats and cabin. At ‘Margarita Machine’, you shoot your minigolf ball into an XXXL cocktail glass. Madness mini golf promises to be a dream for social media junkies.

Protest and Lucky’s

Observant visitors will see nods to the owner’s career between holes. These include a selfie spot with an original ski gondola, pimped by Protest with Christmas trees, snowboards and skis from her international sports brand Protest and an authentic Brunswick bowling alley hole as a link to the award-winning Lucky’s bowling, also found at Dekker Warmond. “When I put something like this up, it has to be next level. That’s how the idea of mixing it with selfie spots was born.” Her next project? “Who knows, maybe one day I will get the chance to put this down in London or Paris, in a kind of franchise formula,” smiles Dekker.

Partying at Madness Minigolf

Roy Wunderink, managing director of Dekker Warmond and Zoetermeer is responsible for the operation: “Madness welcomes guests of all ages. You can come with friends, family, for a children’s party or with your company. At the loft, overlooking the holes, luxurious seating areas have been created where you can celebrate a birthday with a group. The Madness restaurant and the Madness Lounge can also be hired out for a (corporate) party. “There is a DJ booth on the mezzanine and karaoke available. We therefore expect this experience to be combined with paddle and bowling, a barbecue, karaoke, you name it, it’s all under one roof,” adds Roy.

Colorful street food

The main bar is located downstairs where drinks and street food dishes from an eye-catching menu can be ordered: such as mini soft tortillas, noodles ‘on a stick’, mini hot dogs with pink onions, together with a cocktail or mocktail also another photo opportunity. Outside, Madness has a large outdoor dining space with, you guessed it: striking furniture and colourful parasols as well as a charcoal barbecue. Watch the impression below.
