A wide range of culinary concepts at Level 8
Level 8 serves as a stage for some of LA’s culinary talents and will become a unique destination in the city. Michelin-starred chef Joshua Gil will take guests on a French Teppanyaki experience at Maison Kasai and outdoor oyster and ceviche bar Mother of Pearl. Esquire Chef of the Year and LA-based chef Ray Garcia heads Qué Bárbaro, the South American live-fire grill restaurant, and The Brown Sheep, a food truck serving Mexican street food with a Los Angeles twist. Joel Robuchon protégé Chef Hisae Stuck leads Lucky Mizu, inspired by the Japanese art of cooking with water: seiro mushi (steaming) and shabu shabu (boiling). Combined, led by Level 8 Executive Chef Richard Archuleta, Level 8’s culinary concepts will present a culinary mishmash of experiences.
Mark Houston describes Level 8 as a collection of their personal favourites that pay homage to Downtown LA’s heritage, with an emphasis on culinary discoveries. At the heart of the venue is Mr. Wanderlust, a piano bar with a theatrical touch, while the rooftop pool terrace, Golden Hour, offers stunning views and transforms into an outdoor lounge with DJs and live entertainment. Sinners y Santos, a 19th-century cathedral-inspired nightclub, adds a unique touch to the experience.
Cultural diversity, the biggest inspiration
Jonnie Houston emphasizes their commitment to embracing LA’s cultural diversity, providing a pre and post-event destination for locals and travelers attending nearby venues. The design, a collaboration between the Houstons, Lightstone Design Studio, Undisclosable, and Basile Studio, creates a maze of unique locations, making every visit to Level 8 an adventure.
