Hotel Norge in Bergen has been around since 1885 and this summer reopened their new, modern home for travellers with a curious mind. The hotel embraces Bergen’s history and combines it with an international and contemporary lifestyle. Check out the video underneath the article and spot the special features of this hotel such as the giant eternal sun in the lobby which can be seen as the heart of the building, the escalator tunnel, the amfi staircase in café Norge and their own fragrance ‘the escapist’. Inspiration from Bergen in Norway, with a touch of Amsterdam as concrete was involved in the design.

Hotel Norge by Scandic

The hotel is a destination in itself, offering an escape from the daily grind for business and leisure travellers alike, without even having to step outside. Designed as a collection of unique curated spaces, with a different array of ambiances that capture the city of Bergen. Going up to the Lobby, a more sophisticated and ambient space, lit by the giant sun that changes colour depending on the season and mood. The iconic wooden staircase that connects two floors can be transformed into a stage for lectures and performances, while the central bar serves freshly-made breakfast in the morning or exotic cocktails at night.

You can eat at the urban, bright café Norge or discover nature’s richest and purest Nordic flavours in restaurant NOVA. They even have a lifestyle concierge who will help you explore new urban scenes  and experience the greatest freedom of the outdoors. Enjoy the ‘hytte’ inspired guest rooms at the end of the day. The traditional Norwegian ’Hytte’ stands for leaving the daily grind behind as you kick off your shoes in the mudroom, close the door behind you and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel allows both locals and travellers to eat, work, drink and sleep in the heart of the city, situated between the mountains and the vast blue sea. The hotel allows their guests to surround themselves with city life and break free into nature when needed. Check out their promotional video!
