“We are thrilled to officially open this new hotel and share the next chapter of Dallas luxury with the world,” says general manager Julian Payne. “We look forward to providing our visitors with a first-class level of service that defines the Hôtel Swexan name, fosters connections and creativity and showcases what makes Dallas truly special.”

The hotel was developed by Harwood International and the exterior was designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma.  “Our collaboration with Harwood International began with Rolex and we are excited about our latest building with Harwood No. 14, as well as our façade design for Hôtel Swexan,” said Kengo Kuma of Kengo Kuma & Associates. “Others are on the horizon.”

The interior design for the hotel is inspired by the world’s greatest cities, combined with the founders’ travels and their passion for art and design, taking their favourite elements and traditions from cultures around the world. Combining timeless European style with handsome Texan warmth, Hôtel Swexan’s 134 rooms have a homely feel, with five-fixture baths, Le Labo products and floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the Dallas skyline. The hotel has eight unique suites.

Food and beverage concepts

Hôtel Swexan offers five culinary concepts, with Stillwell’s as the main act. Stillwell’s is a Texan steakhouse open to both guests and locals and pays homage to the female heroine it is named after, Hallie Stillwell. The restaurant exclusively serves HWD – Harwood Premium Beef – a new vertical purchase that has been in the works for years. In terms of drinks, Stillwell’s world-class wine list is curated by female Master Sommelier Barbara Werley.

Other food and drink concepts include Isabelle’s, a tea enclave with a Parisian-inspired patio that turns into a martini bar in the evening, Library at Babou’s and Babou’s, a two-storey library that gives way to an unexpected, lively cocktail lounge with DJ sets. On the rooftop are Pomelo and Léonie, two refreshing spots for international food and drinks exclusively reserved for hotel guests.

Facilities at Hôtel Swexan

Experiences and amenities are layered in every corner of the hotel with the utmost attention to detail. On the 20th floor is a 75-metre-high infinity pool, while the sixth floor is reserved as a large event space and the 8th floor features a state-of-the-art fitness centre. Hôtel Swexan is the first hotel project for Dallas-based Harwood Hospitality Group, which owns and operates several acclaimed restaurants in the 19-city Harwood District, including Happiest Hour, Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar and Dolce Riviera.
